The other issue is how terrible they are at producing players when they are the only top club in the city that is the world’s best production line of top talent. Paris produces more top footballers than anywhere in the world and almost none of them have any connection PSG. The Qataris said they wanted to address that and have done better at getting local kids from their academy into top level football, just still vanishingly few with them.

Careful what you wish for, I’d say. Don’t know how much of it is down to Emery. He shouldn’t be following managers, considering how they lose jobs in England. But maybe he wants one more go outside Sevilla, after not a great time at Roma. Can always go back to Sevilla, I guess. He gets this attention, but it’s not a one-man job, his work also depends on circumstances and other factors. Still, out of Purslow and him, I know who I’d prefer.

SD is one job where your results rely on everyone and everything else around you almost more than any other. It has to just be the right fit. “Talent” isn’t really the determining factor. Hope it works for him though, he’s got an interesting history of squad building on a budget.

Mbappe is now a rather odd one as the options are low.
Man City perhaps is one, Chelsea perhaps another but I’m not sure about eithier. He isn’t going Barca as they have no money and Newcastle are shopping around after some of our targets and lower.
Real Madrid just bought Bellingham so I can’t see them going again, so is he going basically try and force a free transfer?

They trusted him to extend until 2025 but now he is forcing PSG to sell him this summer otherwise he will go on a free summer 2024 they think it is a catastrophe but now it will force them to built a team not allow one player to call the shots about who they buy and who they get rid off

Madrid could still do it I think, especially as Benzema has gone. If PSG really are open to selling him they would probably have some flexibility with the fee.
I wouldnt be surprised though to see it happening next summer.

He has one year left, so he goes wherever he choses to sign in January. That puts PSG in a choice between one more year and zero fee, or selling now. That reeks of a plan, Mbappe likely knows exactly where he wants to go.

Just have some doubts over RM going for two big signings in a summer.
There was talk of them going for Firmino this summer before going big on a striker next year. Could be that Mbappe is still in their plans but they are being less brazen about it. Encouraging Mbappe to leave on a free would be the sort of thing they would do - and give them revengr over last year.
When Madrid were after Mbappe last year they were prepared to pay several hundred million euros for him. I would think much of that financial firepower is still there - and there would be less need for it to be paid in one go if they did get involved for him this window.
I wonder if this is where the Valverde rumours are coming from, as i cant see why they would sell him .
