Here’s another doctor telling it how it is on the frontline in the UK
That was on the mirror the other day as well.
The opinion of some commenters was he is a self promoting idiot who knows fuck all.
I bet he would be upset to know some random twats have discounted his hard earned knowledge.
He is absolutely correct in saying it and standing up to say it.
Is the answer
-
Force a photo shoot for propaganda reasons?
-
Vaccinate with an unclinically tested vaccine
Amazingly, no one will be down on the Chinese at ground zero for partying while the world suffers, yet a few 20something brits in Bondi beach signal the end of western civilisation
I get there’s problems, but the hypocrisy is …
Unsurprising.
China and it’s figures about Coronavirus are very strange to say the least.
What I really like about those who believe that coronavirus is a hoax is that they will disproportionately reap the consequences of their stupidity. Darwinism in action.
What I don’t like is the collateral damage suffered by everyone else, including the additional unnecessary deaths of those who do take this seriously.
I’d like to see all the coronavirus deniers rounded up, sent somewhere on holiday for 40 days, where they have everything provided, but are infected with the virus that doesn’t exist.
They could make a show of it. Call it “Lord of the Lies” to encourage the deniers to sign up. I’d watch it.
Only downside would be that they’d have to agree to receiving no medical treatment for coronavirus but as it doesn’t exist, they’d presumably be good with that.
Far simpler would be a watching brief in the ICU’s - a whole 48 hours or more even.
Like yourself the madness is just incredible
Sorry but the tweet was a thread, in it he shows the misinformation that has been spouted by Allison Pearson for the Telegraph over the year.
No propaganda is needed, but we shake our head in disgust at the idiots who believe it is a hoax, ignore social distinancing rules, and have an attitude of I am young I will be OK. But at the same time the UK has a media (Telegraph, Express, Daily Mail) promoting such behaviour.
China is a success story because it can use draconion measures to enforce basic measures to prevent spread. Those same measures have been used by other countries in none draconian ways to be successful.
To be clear I don’t trust Chinese government, and I would not advocate their draconian approach. The tweet though was a commentary on a Libertarian (Telegraph writer), who over the year has advocated not wearing a mask, visiting your nan, ignoring the rules. Asking how a country can have a New Years celebration.
To put NZ spin on it.
Those that held such views in the media or parliament were denounced as irresponsible shunned, and given short shrift.
A counter narrative (like flat earthers, anti vaxers) was not allowed to fester.
The UK treated everything like there was a debate. When really during a pandemic people needed to follow basic rules like washing hands and minimising contact.
That’s a consequence of thirty years of gradual disengagement from politics. We’ve purposely bred a population that is not interested in anything politicians say. Chickens have come home to roost.
To be fair for China, my ex colleague, a foreigner living in China, told me that the authorities are really efficient to shut down cities, provinces or even residential clusters and their borders when necessary within a day. That would be a great factor in their low numbers.
However, I also believe when people question their numbers, these people are not wrong too. The lack of transparency of asymptomatic cases definitely contribute to this suspicion.
But overall, there have been countries who have been very successful. Taiwan had countdown parties going on too. Of course some had cautioned against that but I guess no one can argue that by and large, countries who seem to do better are those who could implement swift actions and then impose and execute huge penalties, case in point for Taiwan, they fine a migrant worker US$3500 for leaving his quarantine hotel room for 8 seconds.
More idiots
So a large proportion of the UK has gone full Trump and doesn’t give a flying fuck about the virus.
What a mess we are in.
But seriously what will happen to them? Will the authorities have the will to just throw them into prison to make an example of them?
Lock 'em up, lock 'em up!
Not sure that’s how it works. It is fucking tempting with these covidiots though.
Short of charging them for attempted murder, taking away the freedom of idiots who does not treasure the privilege of freedom in times of pandemics is about the only thing you can do.
how i wish at times that the virus would mutate to such an intelligent level that each infected person can be tested and traced back from whom he/she caught the virus from and if that spreader caused it through some reckless or illegal behaviour, could be charged for manslaughter. I wish.
3 Spurs players photographed at a party…one of which, Reguilón, is on the bench today…
A virus that was benign when its host was indoors but caused the host to explode as soon as they ventured outside.
These stories juxtaposed is extremely satisfying
