Where’s the police and FA?
They should be used for transporting the patients to the wards, and collection of bodies from the wards to the morgue so they can see and fully understand the consequences of their selfish insanity. Won’t be able to pop home after a shift, will have to grab a snack on the run, and be too exhausted to do other than fall asleep where they stand. Welcome to the NHS you are destroying mate.

Embarrasing here in the U.S. Did great to engineer vaccines in record time, but now the rollout is tooooo slow. The states don’t have enough money or organization to get the job done. Similar to contact tracing. Billions given to people who didn’t lose their jobs, but paltry funding for the more difficult activities. Our governance is regrettably poor after twenty years of arguing uselessly about immigration.

US is far from alone in that, rollout in parts of Canada has been pathetic.
Israel is setting the gold standard, they are more or less vaccinating as fast as they can get vaccines.

Could be worse I suppose. Second wave slamming home here with 15-18k rise per day and the true number likely higher. Earliest we’re going to have access to a vaccine is only to be 2nd quarter. On a personal note .y family and friends both here in Margate and back in Mooi River have been fortunate enough to be unscathed up until this week with two close friends (a couple) of ours now positive. They are relatively mildly infected it seems so that’s a positive. The woman works in the same office as the missus so that is far too close for my comfort especially as the missus is pregnant so we have hit our own ‘circuit break’. My office hours are flexible and I am only strictly required to be in the office for four hours in a week when I am the duty agent so that’s me sorted, she has notified her boss that she will work from home (has to be cleared with HR but if they don’t like it fuck them) and our boy is not in school until the 27th anyway. Our domestic help has been told not to come so we are now in our own bubble.

Good to see we will reach herd immunity soon,we can get a refund on all the vaccines we won’t need.
Those figures should climb even further with all the covidiots celebrating over Christmas and the New Year.

We’ve just heard that our little one’s school will not open tomorrow. 7:20pm the message came through. A bit late for some parents I guess but at least the right decision I think.
There’s been building pressure from the teaching unions on getting a clear direction from the Welsh Government on the matter in lieu of letting decisions be made at a local level. I think the decision has still been a local one

For the first time we’ve gone ahead of Spain on the number of deaths per million (1,096 compared to 1,087). Thankfully the vaccination programme is at least progressing well with over 1 million people having already received the first dose. AstraZeneca also starts getting used from tomorrow.
