Interesting article. It indicates that the UK was right not to take part in the EU procurement scheme, at least for vaccines.
Hopefully all countries will be able to roll out vaccinations as quickly as possible but there are numerous reasons why this process is being hindered - particularly in France.
The aim in the UK is 15million by the middle of February. Should be doable.
Depends on the weather. My Dad’s appointment today got cancelled, delayed by a week because we had a little snow yesterday.
Always an awkward thing an I have seen some doing the usual UK crap snow infrastructure but I can also understand the concern here. 80+ year olds on ivy footpaths, probably not a great idea.
Otherwise we look pretty nailed on for over 100k covid deaths. That is both infuriating and heartbreaking

Try explaining to the French. They have been brainwashed that the French health system is the best in the world and repeat it willingly and shout down anyone who points out how slow it is and what the concequences of slow communication are.
Here though the article is incorrect, it was government that decided to, as with testing, centralise the process. If the regions had organised it I’m sure it would have gone a lot faster.

The Telegraph is reporting on the spot fines are to be issued by the police to those outside without a valid reason:
£200??? Make it ten grand if you really want it to be effective. Soon see people staying in if that were the case.
There should also be a limit of one person per vehicle, so that you can’t have multiple people going for a day out and using the “we’re only going to Tesco’s” excuse.

Saxony’s genius in charge has now admitted that he didn’t realise how serious the situation is until he visited a few hospitals on December 11.
Just to then complain that he wished someone had told him earlier… Fucking hell…

Just had my Google 2020 Timeline update on Maps. Actually made me chuckle!
I have been out of the house once in 3 months, and that was for a flu jab in the medical centre 2 miles away.
However, I am about to blow all that apart as we are finally (after 6 months in a long chain with idiot newbies) going to be moving house this month - 160 miles away. And yes, I’m going to be so ultra careful the removal company will hate me!
