I took my car in for it’s ‘MOT’ today. Met an interesting old man of 85. He wasn’t going to get vaccinated because lots of stuff like he had never had the flu vaccine and as he had never had the flu that prooved it wasn’t necessary. I took my time and managed to be polite and he came round to saying that the vaccine was perhaps a good thing and he should get his jab (unfortunately I didn’t have the time to explain to him how to go about it).
To humor him I didn’t contradict him over mask wearing and to be fair we were outside and he did say he wore a mask when in shops and enclosed spaces which I feel is well enough. I did impress on him that washing hands was important.
Quite a pleasant chat in the end and I hope he passes on the importance of vaccination to his reluctant peers. Also that he does actually get vaccinated.
My 21 year old car passed it’s MOT just, I must service it more often then again the main problem were the tyres. As I don’t notch up the KMs (haven’t been to England for about 4 years now 4000KM round trip) so they sit there doing nothing but rotting (also had a problem with the anti roll bar but fixed it but that caused some adverse wear on the front tyres they’ll need changing within the next 2 years anyway.
Sounds like as good a reason for a TAN christening as I have heard once people are free to travel again. Just make sure your stocked up on steins.
You don’t need to have your car serviced. If you just leave it alone it will keep itself healthy. The idea that cars degrade is a scam put out by the Illuminati. If nobody serviced heir cars, they’d all naturally turn into Ferrari’s. Seriously, I saw a youtube video on it.
Ace, we’ll be there for the victory match next season
Good on you, love people who grab life by the balls and tell it that it’s happening your way.
So, Arturo Vidal gets the vaccine a few days ago, and now he has to be taken to hospital with a throat infection and Covid-19. Good job!
France opening up vaccinations for those aged 12 and over from 15 June.
From last week
This is not a good look.
In the first 3 days of this week, we had 586.161 jabs, a new record.
“Hundreds of Man City and Chelsea fans on five chartered flights and one Ryanair jet are told to self-isolate for 10 days after landing in Britain.”
“The news has led to fears that all 12,000 supporters who travelled from the UK to Portugal and back could be affected and told to isolate. It is unclear how many supporters have tested positive so far.”
If this is the extent of risk in countries (both UK and Portugal) where COVID has been largely subdued, imagine the outcome of Copa in COVID hotbed Brazil.
wish it were there when I was in the area 2 years ago. only went to 1 pub the full day I was there
And the other 25% will go to “allies and partners” aka the highest bidder.
Took my first dose of Pfizer 3 hours ago. So far no major side effects felt. Will take 2nd dose 6 weeks later
An analysis of 38,805 sequenced cases in England revealed that the Delta variant was associated with a 2.61 times higher risk of hospitalisation within 14 days of specimen date than the Alpha variant.
Small sample and all. But you either err on the side of caution from the information of a small sample or wait until you have a large data sample and its already far too late to make decisions based on that data.
I’m interested to see whether this, combined with the knowledge that the Delta variant is much more easily transmissible in a school setting will influence the next planned easing in a couple of weeks? Schools have 6 weeks left until the break I believe. There are plenty of reasons to be a bit more cautious for a bit longer (including allowing more first and second dose vaccinations to take place before the case numbers explode) and only one reason of ‘sticking to your word’ to carry through with the current deadline. Let’s see how the government plays it. You never know - they might surprise me.
What is the effectiveness of the Chinese and Russian vaccines? We are scheduled to receive 25 million doses of Chinese and Russian vaccines. Since our stock of Oxford vaccine is practically zero, the Russian and Chinese vaccines will be used for future (at least for the next phase) vaccination.
Presently we need 11 million jabs just to clear the backlogs.
