Wrong Prime Minister?
yeah but look at everyone on the right and compare their dress to those on the left.
The crowd at the back, it’s a disgrace.
Those on the left setting the example yet they will get trashed for it.
What’s wrong with England?
Basically Boris thinks Covid is done and dusted. Vaccine roll out and we’re all in the clear. Screw those that are now dying, falling ill, missing work etc. Throw in a few Libertarians such as Desmond Swayne (who wouldn’t surprise me if he wasn’t actually vaccinated) and that whole side feel they can do what they want again.
That whole lapse has actually pretty much spread across the nation, including Wales where PPE lethargy has set in. I used to see it all the time on construction sites and it all stems from a “Wont happen to me” attitude. The message needs to be continually drummed in but it’s been waved away.
The sad thing is that cases haven’t really dropped any significant amount since early August. There’s been a steady increase. There’s basically got 900 people per day being admitted to hospitals in England. Lord knows what other treatments they are delaying.
The complete lack of leadership continues.
I brought up the issue of Ivermectin being labeled as a horse de-wormer by the media a little while ago. I am not advocating it as an alternate therapy for Covid - I have been double jabbed and happy about it.
What does concern me though is the tunnel vision being presented that vaccination is the only possible solution that should be explored and also why the media is intent upon pushing this agenda.
Russell Brand addresses this to some extent in this podcast - a brief exploration of the media reporting surrounding Covid 19. It is not a podcast about the efficacy of Ivermectin.
Whether you like him or not (I never used to, but he has developed into a caring and compassionate human being) he asks some pretty forthright questions about the honesty of the news presented by the mainstream media. If you have an open, inquiring mind, it is definitely worth 10 minutes of your time.
Whatever theories or conspiracies people think are behind the push for vaccines as the only solution now, do not mean it’s OK to offer Ivermectin or anything else non proven as alternative solutions. Merck themselves have warned that Ivermectin has not been proven as treatment for Covid. If anything, they stand to make tonnes of money because if it had been proven, people will be rushing to buy and make this giant pharma an even bigger one. So there is absolutely nonsense to me to say that the governments are conspiring with giant pharmas about the vaccines. Merck is way bigger than Moderna BTW. Even if the vaccine push is dubious, does not mean that the push for Ivermectin is right and I don’t understand how and why people are still pushing it. If anyone wants to question the authorities or pharmas about the vaccine, by all means, but don’t do it under the cover of pushing ivermectin with ‘good intentions’.
We had an old lady in Singapore seriously ill BTW because her friends in church told her that Ivermectin is the right way. My belief in God aside, these are idiots, I don’t know what God they are trusting in, God of stupidity perhaps.
And by the way, there are already trials in oral treatments for covid ongoing so it’s not all vaccine only push. Merck and Singapore sign deal on COVID-19 antiviral pill | Reuters
What you say may or may not be true - but that has absolutely nothing to do with what that podcast is about. Or is your comment on a separate but related subject?
If you are being lied to / misinformed about Ivermectin it begs the question - what else are we being lied to about by the mainstream media?
And that is not saying, for a moment, that Ivermectin is a potential treatment for Covid 19.
Meanwhile…
errrr!
The English!
Doubt if you will get an honest answer.
Really ? I just saw an MP on tv who said Covid infections had been very low during the summer and had only recently begun to increase a little !
He obviously went to the Boris school of truth and statistics.
Building a wall of lies and denials is fucking effective though isn’t it? I look around and don’t see many people worried about covid any more. For them it’s over. The leaders are effectively communicating it’s over.
Yeah I’d like to know if this was in response to the photo of 99% maskless Conservatives or not. The answer to that would probably rely on whether Javid himself was wearing a mask then or not though I can’t see him in the photo so impossible to know.
If you were better informed, you’d know.
Sort of true to be fair.
Early May UK cases were 3 per 100k average. By early August they were at 39 cases per 100k having peaked 2 weeks earlier at 71. We’re now back up to 67 per 100k. That’s higher than the US. Europe is at just below 16 but also climbing.
Truth is there’s an argument that certain restrictions were removed too early. We opened up with a case load of between 40 and 50 which goes completely against my own personal level of amateur virology logic. The trend at the time was not really going down, it had pretty much flat lined.
I think the low level of cases basically extended from the end of February to the end of June. From that date onwards cases rose quite sharply towards the middle of July. From there they have remained relatively steady (albeit high in the 30k-45k/day ballpark on a 7-day rolling average).
UK cases have risen from an average of 30,000 per day to 45,000 per day in the last 30 days.
That’s a significant rise, not the flat line you suggest.
Germany cases have jumped in the last two days and the average has risen from 9,000 per day to 12,000. Not clear yet whether this is an anomaly.
