The Corona Pandemic

It would have been twice that many but Pickford needs them to guard his house.

These groups would be:

  1. Front-line NHS staff (including trainees and trainers), to protect health services and save lives, including non-COVID-19 related conditions where there is already a significant risk of harm.

  2. Front-line social care staff, including domiciliary care and affiliated visiting professionals

  3. Emergency service staff

  4. Education staff at schools, colleges and higher education institutions

  5. University students

  6. Key workers, to maintain essential services, in particular prison staff

  7. School pupils

  8. Workers in hospitality/leisure/at-risk sectors

  9. Contacts of those identified by the NHS Test and Trace system

This would be the first competent thing the UK government has done to address the pandemic

You say that but we know this government. Once they do the testing that will be the end of it. Nothing meaningful will come out of it and it will be nothing more than a publicity stunt.

I’ve become used to asking how they’ll use an opportunity for evil instead of good.

I am not sure I was suggesting they would start stringing competent actions together.

With testing, like what you said, I find many doing it for PR purposes, just to announce how many tests we are doing.

It should be a program, a plan, a schedule. Like for emergency workers, there is no point if you are testing all emergency workers ONCE and thats it. There must be a routine, a plan to test them from time to time and not just a one off test once in a while.

About time someone cracked this joke.

Darn it. If it wasn’t for all those countries being able to manage Covid, manage the economy, not volunteer for economic restrictions and be sympathetic to the poverty gap we’d be awesome.

How very Lampard of you.

The only reason we’re given a harder time than other countries is because we’re British, innit.

Too late now isn’t it? The message is out there, perfectly tied with Farage announcing the change. I also bet they will have covered their tracks as to who produced these.

This whole thing boils my blood to be honest. What a fucking mess the world is. Not because of COVID, because of all the shit flying round denying this, conspiracy that. I’m now seeing people I know and thought they were decent people in a completely different light. That is so sad. We are being divided.

If only you had been typing this in February rather than November…

What chance do we stand with idiots like that around. I swear, if someone puts garbage like that through my door, things could turn nasty.

The whole conspiracy thing is somewhat undercut by the fact that we now have 1.2m dead worldwide. It takes a very special brain to weave that into a conspiracy theory.

Not really. Just ignore facts, no matter how in your face they are.

After all that’s happened these past few years, you still believe that people will see through the bullshit.

but honestly there are 7 billion people in this world and anything is possible and sometimes you wonder why there are people who believes still that the world is flat etc… its strange but thats how it is

Given how behavioural science has informed the Government’s approach i wouldnt be surprised to find out they were not even real tests but placebos

This is a fucking insult to Nobby Stiles and the game he loved.

I know it’s still early days, but the 21st Century is a bit of a disappointment so far.
