The Corona Pandemic

Back in the day when there was no such thing as a sewer system…
Lots of people would drink Gin, and only Gin because it was safer than the polluted drinking water available that carried ultimate strains of disease…!
So you may not be far off the mark in pickling your organs in such a manner…! :0)

For the same reason pupils at my old school would be given beer. Before my time, unfortunately. We had to make ours ourselves or risk a booze run to the local village/town.

I honestly don’t know whether to feel sad or angry by that.

So far the UK’s Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) has published contracts with Mr Saiger’s company, Saiger LLC, totalling more than £200m. These were awarded without being opened to competition.

Mr Andersson was paid more than $28m (£21m)…
He was described in court documents as having done “very well under this arrangement”.

Does anyone know how Saiger or Andersson are related, directly or indirectly, to Bozo and/or his accomplices?

Sounds about right for this government. I don’t know why no-one else has thought of closing games off to crowds then reintroduce then just as the virus is peaking. Makes a lot of sense.

This is absolutely scandalous.

Over £20m of public money- ie our taxes, which are supposed to benefit society as a whole- have ended up in the pockets of someone’s mate.

Heads should roll.

And another idiot gathering in Berlin today. Nazis defending the constitution they want to destroy and New Age hippies trying to kill everyone with love. Or something like that.

Nazi hippies perhaps? Forcing everyone into commune camps where there aren’t any showers whatsoever.

I heard on the radio this morning that Dolly Parton helped to fund the research that has led to the Moderna vaccine. Yet another reason why she’s awesome.

That’s three now. :smirk:

J/k, there are loads.

The scale of the potential fraud, is staggering:

According to the National Audit Office’s report, more than 8,600 coronavirus contracts had been awarded by 31 July, ranging in value from less than £100 to £410m.

Of these, £10.5bn-worth were awarded directly without a competitive tender process, the report said.

The NAO looked in detail at 20 contracts including:

  • A deal with research firm Public First, whose owners had “previously advised or worked with” Cabinet minister Michael Gove.
  • Artificial intelligence company Faculty, which was awarded contracts worth almost £3m. Cabinet Office minister Lord Agnew owned a £90,000 stake in the firm but has since relinquished it.
  • Ayanda Capital supplied 50 million masks that could not be used for their original purpose at a cost of £155m. The deal was brokered by a businessman who was an adviser to the government’s Board of Trade at the time.
  • PestFix, a pest control company, was given contracts worth £350m, which included delivery of 600,000 masks which cannot be used for their original purpose.

Evidently the pandemic does have a silver lining, well, at least for Government ministers, their friends and family.

Long suspected this with pigeon netting firms getting PPE contracts and the like. So it’s no surprise.

Big question is how do you bring these people to task? I note that Cummings (who has links to other non tendered government contracts) will sail off into the distance and be free of any scrutiny that comes from both this and what happens on January 1st 2021.

I do wonder how much of this is down to people self identifying with Ayn Rand’s John Galt, rather than a deliberate attempt at fraud.

Anyone who finished Atlas Shrugged deserves a medal.

And then shooting.

I used to think that book was just for the young boys who couldn’t get laid.

Until I found out these people are actually in positions of power. :anguished:

A friend of mine went to Washington to work for a Republican Congressman after university. His comment was almost identical to COG’s

Anyone who gets through all of Atlas Shrugged deserves a medal. Anyone who thinks it presents a viable model for government needs to be shot.
