The Cricket Thread (Part 2)

Assume they wanted to keep him for T20 and have written ODI off. The fact it’s only club tournament is played with 2nd and 3rd string sides during the month of the 100 shows how much they care about it.

ODI World Cup is also next year, so perhaps he goes after that. Deffo needed a change at test level mind also surprised he oversaw it considering how separated they have made it from the test cricket which in a test series finishes and 3 days later it’s T20.

When are you getting called up for the England team ?

I don’t condone cheating, but that is some next level stuff, watch out Matty - this guy is clearly going to be facing you in the next ashes with rule bending like that

Ollie Pope and Dan Lawrence get recalls for the Pakistan series

Ho hum

I mean it’s not proper Cricket but this headline amused me:

Er, I think a longer version already exists and there is a clue as to the length of the game in the name of the tournament …

Did he mean the length of the tournament or the amount played.

The length of the tournament as they had to play 3 games in 5 days - but I’ll never let the facts get in the way of a humourous take on the slipping standards of modern journalism

That could be the most underwhelming test squad ever. Lawrence as spinner? Constant failure Pope back? No Ahmed? Cook back after a disastrous debut bowling 75mph pies?

It just leaves us to pick Sibley if Gay is injured.
