And without their main pace bowler to boot.

How on earth did that stick??

It was so outrageously wrong that certain parties (not me, obviously) continue to mention it in order to poke fun at its inventor (Ifti).

I’m not sure if there are any Aussies on here, but just in case, I thought they might like to read this…

Where’s gone_kloppo btw.

Thanks man. It’s really stunning (unexpected even) considering how messy the selection, and preparation was.

Changed his name.

I think to @Rooster but not 100%

Without trying to take too much from Bangladesh who really do deserve this lead, this is a great early wakeup call both to the players and selectors with a very busy period (by our standards!) coming up.

Its actually good to see the usual suspects underperform and get punished. We aren’t always going to be lucky enough to play a team of the standard of England.

Australia have been carrying Marnus for way too long as well. They might need to make a couple of changes to their batting lineup.

I’d say their pacers are ageing as well too. Surely Boland should have come in.

Shaping up to be a good match here. Bangladesh with the advantage but Australia know that this pitch will give them runs when they bat in the second innings

He’s 37…

The selectors also seem to have caught the old England disease of selecting ā€˜all rounders’ who are neither good enough batsmen due to technique or mentality (or both) nor consistent wicket taking bowlers to justify wearing a baggy green. Green and Webster should both be dropped for a batsman and a bowler. I think Marnus also can’t justify selection - his technique has always been suspect and now that he isn’t scoring he’s like that u10 kid who’s super enthusiastic and thinks he’s a star but undeveloped game causes watchers to alternately smile and feel embarrassed for him.

Got to say I’m enjoying it! Hopefully Bangladesh can keep it up; nothing better than the Aussie cricket team really under the pump and seeing them lose their rag.

He’s played so little cricket that I was thinking he would be a good 4 years younger.

His technique is a lot like Smith’s. Except that Smith finds a way around his technique (mostly by relying on his immense hand eye coordination).

He is the same age as Starc and Hazlewood, but took longer to develop. Even for Victoria, he didn’t cement his spot until he was a bit older, and didn’t get picked for Australia until he was 31, so his body seems to have held up better than the others purely due to having played a lot less cricket

Incorrect.

Been the Rooster on here since about 2013.

There will be the usual pile on and glee if the Aussies lose. It’s midwinter, first test of a thousand over the next year.

I still think we can get a 200 run lead and roll them. But to be fair to the Bangers maybe they should be respected a bit more because the Aussie public consider them easybeats.

And to digress how good are the Roosters going in the NRL….
