It’s been a prominant feature of English cricket for decades.
If not already beaten, this would have to be pretty close to a record for an innings score would it not?
Record’s 900+. England won’t get that.
Will probably declare after the next wicket.
Just seen on beeb that England’s highest is 903-7 vs Aus back in the 30’s.
Not sure how many others would have bettered that.
Declaration.
823-7.
26 runs short of the 3rd spot with 3 wickets.
Should they have maybe gone for 850 before declaring?
Getting 10 wickets in a day and a half on this pitch is going to be a challenge.
Right time to declare.
Could have had 2 in 10 mins
Oooo eerr
I nearly fell off my chair when I read that total. And had to do a double take!
823/7 declared!! in 150 overs?! Brook 300+
Pakistan still in that mode when the rest of the cricketing world has updated to the times.
Any wonder why their T20 and odi teams have so shit results. And now their test team. They are soon heading down the Windies route.
Argh! Bash!! No drops are good but that was particularly galling. And he hasn’t taken a wicket either.
Ok I was wrong, never doubt the madness of Pakistan cricket.
There’s no upside to it anymore.
Can’t quite place a pinpoint to it but their batsmen are average , bowlers are crap , their pitches are dead.
The fact that Bangladesh is a better team than them (no disrespect Ifti ) shows how they’ve fallen.
I mean where are the express pace bowlers and leggies who can turn it at right angles?? Where’s the batting flair? It’s all vanished!!
If Ajmal was a chuck, so were Murali and Harbhajan
England win by an innings after Pakistan score 556 in the first innings.
Incredible stuff.
It feels like Pakistan cricket is moving more towards the way West Indies cricket demised than anything else.
For me peak cricket may have been between the 60s-90s, pretty much mirroring the Windies rise and fall. I’m not sure whether it’ll be too long before cricket is really only a strong hold in 3, possibly 4, countries. Even in those countries, I’m not sure cricket will thrive and grow.
