The Cricket Thread

Rishabh says hi.

Pant plays that way. There was no reason for Bavuma to play that shot.

I didn’t know you attended uni with @Sithbare. Tell me more.

My fear is a top order collapse and Pant coming out and saying “fuck it” Stokes style.

That’s cool. Different standards I guess. Point me to the regular death threats on opposition players and their families, and even their own players and families and I’ll take it on the chin.

‘But it’s only a small number’. Social media doesn’t think so.

Banter is fine. Stepping over that line is just disgusting.

Agreed.

But you can’t tar everybody with the same brush.

India’s got a population of over a billion. And yes, we’ve got more than our fair share of dickheads on social media.

But the vast majority of Indians don’t have the time for social media, definitely do not follow test cricket that much.

Basically what COG says just because of the jobless dickheads on social media , really doesn’t reflect the ground reality.

That would be the 99 world cup probably. Right around the time of the kargil misadventure by Pakistan. Afaik, Pakistanis and indians are pretty alright with each other outside the subcontinent. But emotions were running high between both groups around that time. Maybe the situation in the UK changed a bit recently , but by and large I’ve had relatives who were sharing accomodation with Pakistanis without having a problem in the US

I think we might get Reddy cheaply here.

If you could write a script for a test match this would be it.

What an absolutely fantastic game. Even if it was a draw, I’d be saying that. Brilliant crowds, brilliant fight for both sides, 10 men around the bat in the final overs.

Who doesn’t love test cricket?

Pant should probably stay away from Sunny for a while…

Seriously Rishabh. You were set. Eye in, pitch negotiated. Why…!

I’m and England fan so I have no skin in this game but just disappointing to see a wicket thrown away in such a crucial moment.

A bit of a match on across the park.

ps Game over, Bumrah out :slightly_frowning_face:

Hopefully not but he has been bowling way too much for it to be sustainable.

Some terrible batting by the Indians, but good bowling by the Aussies.

Pant is the last hurrah.

India can definitely win this one. Make some quick runs tomorrow morning, get past 200. Then use the pitch to the max. They can do it even without Bumrah

Extremely unlikely. Can’t see the Aussies being bowled out by Siraj and Co for less than 250.

Going to be hot tomorrow apparently.

If we were a further day into the test I would agree, but with it being the close of day 2, I think it is still in Australia’s favour.

India need a really big score, but are already 6 down, so chances are Australia will have more than 2 full days to chase down whatever score India set which is a hell of a long time to just plod along picking off runs here and there without the pressure of rushing to reach the target.

Bumrah Will likely get painkiller injections, bowl 5 overs in two spells and take a fifer. I’m certainly not ruling out him playing through the pain.

Regardless of JB, the game is in the balance and much will depend on the two batsmen in at the moment and whether they can push the target up.
