Carse and Woakes are too similar, we need some contrast. Either more speed or a left armer, or just someone who can surprise the batsmen in some way.

Hopefully England are sensible with their selection and think of the longer term picture. All three of the quicks who played this one should be rotated out, and Stokes himself needs to have a serious think about wether it’s worth risking his body again considering he was absolutely goosed at the end of this one. Its probably going to be another road so you might as well go with Atkinson, Tounge, Cook and either Bethell/Ahmed/J.Overton in place of Stokes instead of flogging the same horses.

Rehan Ahmed with yet another century again today. Not sure how much more he can do, he is battering that door down.
Also James Rew got himself another hundred for Somerset today and remains not out over night. 11 first class hundreds already at just 21 for a WK batsman is pretty insane, he’s another one England will not be able to ignore for much longer.

Yes and spinners need to keep the run rate down just as much as be able to take wickets. In fact the former is probably more important.
