Yeah, reckon we were expecting this… ![]()
That was one hell of a catch.
What the fuck is with these players on both sides? Last night Stokes completely threw his wicket away trying to take a Marnus run which started the rot.
Then Green and Smith losing their fricking minds tonight when we were on our way to kill the game tonight, bat deep tomorrow and get them batting in the evening.
Possibly we’ve lost the opportunity to force England to start their 2nd innings when we wanted.
Amazing catch btw.
The Green one was coming, but don’t think you can blame Smith.
Aussie still on for a healthy lead.
In the air. Definitely not a safe shot when we needed to set up another partnership.
EDIT: that Carey boundary was a brainless shot. And that was a much lower risk shot than Smith’s.
The closest England have got to an English-born player taking a wicket this match is Josh Inglis.

These dropped catches are doing my head in ![]()
Yeah, England didn’t bowl well, but if they’d held their catches the game would be a lot closer.
Christmas quiz question…
Who’ll be the next England bowler to pull up knackered after this match?
Or during, of course ![]()
Knowing England’s luck, probably Stokes.
I’m already getting the vibe from 2001, was it? Australia won the first two in England, then the third by halfway through the 3rd day, so they literally wrapped up the series by its halfway point. Could happen here, I reckon.
Look how Australia lose two of their frontline bowlers and the other one steps up, with some support, and the so-called ‘weak’ batting lineup is scoring at a better run rate than England.
Why did I have an uneasy feeling to see Australia six down yet Carey still at the wicket? Wouldn’t be surprised if he got to his ton, and the tail wagged longer.
Could get messy for England here, batting again maybe 100-150 behind and Mitch Starc with that pink ball under the lights.
See my prediction above ^^^
Yep, I see it unfolding just as you said.
I was really hoping it wouldn’t.
Kind of inevitable in a way ![]()
All the hype and bluster, yet four days play in the series and England already looking flat…
To me, the real burning question is why the KFC logo on the field looks like Ricky Pointing?
Let the game slip away from them with some terrible bowling and fielding.
Carse has burgled three wickets, genuinely dreadful effort from him. Been really disappointed in Atkinson so far as well, hasn’t performed to his potential in either game.
Yes, was expecting more from Atkinson but maybe his moment awaits in this match, that’s if England even need to bowl again. ![]()
Looks like the bowlers shot their load on the first day of the series, and the fielding has been pretty ordinary. Not too hopeful about the batting either.
That WinViz thing is rubbish. It’s giving England a 25% chance when it’s more like 2%.
