The Cricket Thread

I do like how the T20 has opened these doors.

The world cup has seen some good matches so far. Could have done without the Ind-Pak drama though.

A great match between Afg and SA.

Afghans should have closed it out.

Double super over and all

@wyld.at.hrt is going to like this. Going as per the bat discussion

For what it’s worth. I do agree with wyld that there’s a difference on the bats which international cricketers use and the bats rest of the guys use. But that was the same for tennis racquets.

The final over came close to any right it had to be.

But what a great match

I was going to laugh at Australia, but England will probably lose to Italy next.

Congrats to Zimbabwe. That is a fantastic result for them.

I mean we got absolutely spanked by the Windies.

Both Australia and England’s sides on paper look a bit meh. Personally think South Africa will be the only team with a chance of stopping India, maybe New Zealand at a push.

West Indies could do it. They’ve won the T20WC in India before. And all their players are very experienced in T20 cricket. Including being IPL regulars.

And they have natural power all the way through their lineup.

Oxymoron - the T20 World Cup is too long.

Fucking hell Salt and Buttler!! Why don’t you gift your wickets away :man_facepalming:t2:

Glad that Banton came to the party today. My Somerset biased hat might be on but I really believe he should have had more opportunities for England.

So much ado for a match which (in the balance of) , never lives up to the hype.

Put india pakistan in different groups and then move on

Seems somewhat quiet

I mean there’s a LOT going on, Epstein rumblings, Winter Olympics, plus unless something drastic changes England look like they’re cannon fodder for the next test nation they face.

It could be worse. Australia are currently cannon fodder for any nation we face

Yeah…what’s up with that? T20 team in transition?

Not really, apart from Starc and Hazlewood who generally rotate for the T20 team it looked to be a fairly settled team with Cooper Connolly being the newest member to break into the team 12-15 months ago. Losing Mitch Marsh days before the tournement started doesn’t help, but should not have been such a big lose like it seems to have been.
