  • Liverpool, Knowsley and St Helens will host the finish of stage two of the men’s Tour de France in summer 2027, marking a historic first for the Liverpool City Region.

  • The stage will take place on Saturday, July 3, with riders travelling from Keswick in Cumbria through Lancashire, Knowsley and St Helens before a ā€œsuper sprintā€ finish along Liverpool’s waterfront in front of the Three Graces.

  • Routes for the men’s and women’s races were unveiled today, with ten UK host locations – including Liverpool – lit up simultaneously in a nationwide celebration marking progress towards the 2027 Grand DĆ©parts.

  • The event is expected to deliver a multi-million-pound boost to the local tourism economy, while encouraging cycling, physical activity and community involvement across the region.

  • Political leaders, race organisers and cycling figures have hailed the announcement as a major global showcase for Liverpool, with thousands of volunteer opportunities and a social impact programme aimed at improving health, wellbeing and inclusion.

I’m gonna take the family to Stage 2 or 3.

I took Mrs SBYM to the finish in London, on the Mall. We were on our honeymoon in 2014, only a few hundred metres from the finish line!!! Highlight of that week, tbh.
