Waited 30 years to watch Hudson Hawk, thought it wouldnt be as bad as it was made out to be. I was wrong…i should have waited longer…
It’s not as bad as one Bruce Willis’s last films - Apex. Now that was truly something special.
I watched Finch last night. Tom Hanks all alone again. Honestly ok, even though its a bit light on details on surviving on a post apocolyptic Earth. That could be me being overly geeky though.
I found myself defending it on here a few years ago and convinced myself to rewatch it as a result. I came back on about 30 mins in to apologize to the community for 10 year old Limie being a moron
Followed by…
Hi all, so it turns out Hudson Hawk was actually really shit. Like, watching through your hands because you’re cringing type shit.
I guess 10 year old Limie was an easily amused twat.
To be fair to 10 year old Limie, parts of the film did feel like a kids movie.
The re-writes probably explain a bit too as it did feel uneven. I was unaware or had forgotten the film’s history and had just put it down to Joel Silver’s coke habit.
Watched Working Man. Very bland action movie.
Apple’s Fountain of Youth. One of the worst proper films you’ll ever have the misfortune of watching. Derivative, brain dead, charmless nonsense.

I’m an hour into the latest Jurassic Park and it has it beaten.
Its incredible this was pitched as a more serious film whose top actors wouldn’t sign up for it if was just a repeat of what they’ve done before.
two words.
Scarlett and…well, i think you can guess the second…
We actually went to see Jurassic park at the cinema and it was unbelievable drivel. Basically, my wife will watch anything with dinosaurs in, but there were a couple of scenes that actually cracked her up. The idea that 20m tall dinosaurs could hide in long grass, and a T-rex failing to bite through a rubber dinghy were a bit too much.
The big bad new monster looked like something they would knock on Doctor Who when they ran out of money.
The original Jurassic Park had a real sense of awe and wonder about it, because the new CGI technology gave the filmmakers a sense of awe and wonder. Now CGI is just the go-to cop out, creating badly written, badly acted, and frankly badly animated films.
Paramount has no good IP, which is why they continue pissing so much money on MI films. And why they were willing to spend so much on WB

Here comes more Star Trek reboots, Transformers, and Spy Kids next gen. Great stuff.
The other reason they make MI films is that every other actor requires stunt doubles , but I’ve heard that Tom Cruise does all his own stunts apparently…saving paramount a small fortune

Watched 2 fims last night.
She rides shot gun. Not too bad. The young girl in it gave a superb performance to be fair.
Second film was Dogman by Luc Besson. Utterly bizarre film and storyline. It honestly kept me watching but the story was so wild in so many ways that I honestly cant make my mind up about it. It wont be one I’ll forget in a hurry.

Time for a re-watch, been too long.
I watched Eddington last night. I’m really not sure what Astor was trying to say. The themes are pretty obvious - lack of shared reality, the fakeness of our screen life and how that brings toxicity into our “real life”, but I’m not sure it lands. But maybe the things I’m picking holes in are because I’m what he trying to satirize ![]()
Watched the new Glass Onion movie last night, Wake Up Dead Man, hadn’t been aware it had hit Netflix until yesterday, thought it was only a cinema release.
I liked it, but perhaps not as much as the first two. Brolin always worth watching.
Hope they make another.
The new Avatar is out this weekend and I dont think I have had less interest in seeing a major release since the last one was released. I am familiar with me thinking that a commercially successful thing is shit, but in almost every other case I can think of I know lots of people who adore the stuff I think is absolutely junk. But I dont think I have ever spoken to anyone who liked any of these yet they are commercially enormous.
I did see the last one when it came out on Disney+. It was at least an hour too long and the plot was dull and uninteresting.
I saw the original film at the cinema in 3D and it was the last time I gave that technology a go as I was nauseous during the live action sequences. I enjoyed the actual film, but it was just Dances with Wolves except with blue aliens. Dances with Smurfs, i suppose.
I don’t really remember much of the details from the sequel. The original had a definite taxonomy of the flora and forna. The sequel just seemed to be random pixels. I actually enjoy animated films, but they seemed to trade something visually interesting with mere spectacle.
I’m sure it will gross a gazillion dollars again.
Now this looks pretty interesting
