Option C it is!!
The Adam Project is a great Saturday night family movie. Well worth a look for 40-something geeks with teen kids.
Watched Munich: Edge of War last night. Historical drams are weird because you know where they are going so narratively they are difficult, but this just seems like a 2 hour exercise to reposition Chamberlin’s Munich Agreement as a brave act of sacrificing his own personal reputation to help buy us time to prepare for the inevitable war.
We watched this tonight. Massively disappointing. Solid cast and looks amazing, but just like Shape of Water it was a huge swing and a miss. The basic concept could have made a great noir con movie, but I was glad when it was finally over. The ending was pretty signposted too.
Good film just back on Netflix… Untouchable
French with sub-titles… well worth a watch 9/10
Agreed. Everything was in place to tell a fantastic story. But it was just boring and pretty pointless.
Rescued by Ruby is a nice film just released on Netflix. Though the story arc is quite predictable, I enjoyed it.
So comes the night I’ve waited for for 14 years. Alien with jnr.
I watched Deep Water on Amazon Prime.
I can’t recommend it. It almost works for the first hour and a half but for the wrong reasons, and then quickly falls off a cliff right at the end.
I’m still undecided on how serious or real this Smith/Rock slap thing is.
Police have noted it, but Chris Rock taking no further action. I find it hard to believe that Smith was deadly serious with that reaction and it was just a bit of acting.
I’ve subsequently seen the Smith tears when he won the award - that seemed very real.
On another note, wifey and I watched The Adam Project on Netflix over the weekend - was thoroughly enjoyable. I like Ryan Reynolds - he seems to get the balance right with his comedic style.
He was heavily influenced by Chevy Chase apparently. I’m a fan of both.
Looks like a well played out publicity stunt to me. Odd he slapped him though. I don’t go round assaulting people (quite the contrary) but a man who was going to do that would usually throw a punch.
That was staged, 100%, in my opinion. Will Smith was on camera laughing, then decides to give Rock a slap? In the film, Smith plays the role of the Williams sister’s father, who was apparently fiercely protective of his family. What better publicity stunt is there, than Smith then being ‘fiercely protective’ of his wife, at the Oscar’s ceremony?
Smith’s reaction was wrong but it shouldn’t distract from the fact Rock shouldn’t have ridiculed a medical condition.
Imagine if he was nominated for a Bad Boys style movie
This escalating into an old school Western saloon brawl would have been way more Hollywood, they had the chairs and drinks and everything. Wasted opportunity.
Them tweeting out that they don’t condone violence of any kind then giving him the award is a little problematic. Never knew about the state of his marriage (and wife). Even with all the money and fame in the world, you can still be a justifiably grumpy bastard.
