I see All Quite on the Western Front is available on Netflix. I’m reluctant to watch it since they generally make a shit movie from an epic book.
Looks as though it’s been given rave reviews.
Shaun of the Dead is absolutely brilliant
It’s a book that has translated well to movies at least twice before (I’ve watched an old black and white movie, and one from the 70’s or 80’s with the guy who played John Boy in the Waltons.). The reviews for the netflix movie have been very positive.
Gonna try use today to watch 2 films back to back on Netflix, something I’ve not done in general for months.
Starting wittttttth The Good Nurse
I actually saw one movie when I was a kid, and it was very, very, good.
Underwater
The visuals and special effects are done superbly although it was difficult to capture everything in detail, sound was very scuffled.
& the fucking size of the thing…bigger than a double decked warship.
Not a comic person, but Id assume so. But establishing canon and continuity is a big part of the adaptations. Will people be able to deal with two separate iterations of Batman simultaneously? If the product is better than what DC have done so far then probably so.
I dont think its a good strategy to have 2 versions of Batman running in parallel at same time. Thats gonna confuse a lot while the DC Universe is not even properly built or whatever built so far is very very shit.
The perfect point was Nolan’s triology. They should have realised that they have the best starting point in that & brought Superman movies as a positive version to counter Batman’s grim version & built an universe with those 2 as a base.
The current best bits are only Jocker & wonder woman first movie. I dont see how they go from here, unless they scrap everything and start from scratch. Can just keep Jocker alone and can’t keep wonder woman, because she is already much progressed in the universe.

Two of my all time favourite movies
John Candy was a fucking gem, on screen and in person. I wish he were still around today.
Thanksgiving is still a bit ho hum to me without family here. The tradition of watching Planes Trains and Automobile though makes it worth it.
Maybe just a bit late now Halloween has gone, but we just watched the Curse of Bridge Hollow on Netflix.
If you are still enough of a child to enjoy Hocus Pocus, Casper, Jumanji, Haunted Mansion etc then this is well worth a look as it captures the feeling of those movies far better than any other family film that I’ve seen recently.
Me and Mrs CDO watched Hocus Pocus 2 on Saturday. We’ll give this on a watch on Saturday as there’s usually nowt on telly to interest us.
Thunder Force
About as dumb as the title name would suggest, an insult to 99% of superhero films out there. Complete waste of time. Octavia Spencer is beyond a misfit.
2 Godzilla movies out next year!!

Not expecting the movie to be good but Yusra Mardini is an inspiring young woman.
My Spy
Not really much of a spy film at all, more of a wannabe stepfather playing childish games to this kid and then turns into a light hearted comedy with a bit of romance on the side.
The lead duo do have a refreshing connection for what it’s worth.
Finally watched Morbius. Matt Smith was a terrible villain, and not terrible in a good way. I’ve yet to see any proof that he’s a half decent actor.
Also just watched The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent which is going to feature pretty highly in my 2022 rankings.
