Watched It’s a Wonderful Life last night, which is our tradition, and it is one of the most perfect films ever made hands down.
Godzilla vs Kong?
Kong wouldn’t last five seconds in a fight. How are they going to pad that one out for two hours?
Its a sequel to the last two Godzilla Movies and Kong: Skull Island.
That’s one to watch at home but I must admit I miss going to the cinema.
If it’s like a lot of asian fight movies, it will be the same scene showed in about 100 different angles, and speeds.
I like the Bud Spencer & Terence Hill movies. Lighthearted but good on eyes.
Watched Dead Mans Shoes on the weekend, forgot how much I loved that film! Shane Meadows and Paddy Considine knocking it out of the park.
Done
Kingdom of Heaven is a far more complicated (ie better) film than Gladiator.
Discuss.
Never watched Kingdom of heaven
But no. Can’t imagine it being better than Gladiator
Not seen KoH, but I personally never thought Gladiator was worth all the hype it gets.
A good film, but gets way to overhypped in my opinion.
I thought it was absolute rubbish. Though that might have been because Orlando Bloom was the lead. The only bits i remember are the guy being stabbed in the throat and where the knights charge out of the city on horseback to confront the enemy’s much much larger army.
I wasn’t too impressed with either tbh. Then I wouldn’t compare them either both had poor storylines imo but one is dark heavy and stupid the other is stupid light and clear. In the end I find KoH easier to rewatch and and think that’s what counts the most imo then again there’s so many other films I would prefer to rewatch I wouldn’t get round to rewatching either of them.
Gladiator, Kingdom of Heaven, Troy, Alexander… they’re the kind of movies I just stick on to have in the background. Got me through many essays at Uni having those on repeat.
Watched “The Red Turtle” on Amazon Prime the other day. It’s a joint venture between Ghibli and a French studio. It was an odd film but very good, and very prettily animated to boot.
That thread’s great but these two comments… Hahaha
I rewatched ‘A Simple Favor’ last night. A very good ‘detective’ story worth a few showings. Also a very good and intrigueing sound track particularly for Francopiles/phones. I believe it’s available on Netflix.
The new Wrong Turn is very different from the 6 previous ones. Less gore with more done to develop characters rather than all dropping dead one by one. The bad guys are also slightly more sophisticated rather than just deformed cannibals. Not bad, maybe it can spark off another series of Wrong Turn movies.
