and if nobody in here has seen Erin Brokovich, I’d recommend it. While Julia Roberts hasn’t done much in film for a while, she’s quite good in this one.

No, they’re trying to take my beloved splash mountain off me. But then they’re replacing it with Tiana and she’s the best princess there’s ever been. I’m rather split on the subject.
Is Splash Mountain from a Disney movie or is it just a generic name they had for a ride?

Updating ride names seems pretty logical to me. Keeps it relevant for the kids coming to the park.

Responding to a comment in the TV thread about new star wars films being announed…
Reading up on this now and it’s 3 films being commissioned, but not a trilogy.
1 - the dawn of the Jedi
2 - about the New Republic, tying up the threads fo the Mandalorian and upcoming Ahsoka storylines
3 - a sequel of sorts of the last on of the last trilogy with Daisey Ridley being touted to come back to lead
I have so much negativity about that last trilogy that its really only the first one that piques my interest.

I still want to see a road movie with the Cantina Jazz Band on tour playing worse dives than Mos Eisley. For comic relief they could have Jar Jar Binks as their manager.

I’m deeply fascinated with anything Star Wars but they’ve got their work cut out to get close to righting the mess of the last trilogy and such.

I was chatting to Mitch Benn (the comedian) a few weeks back on the subject of fanwank: overly obsessing over minor continuity and “canon” in Sci-Fi and Fantasy films and TV.
I think the general consensus was that writers should simply ignore it. Fan fiction has its place and that place is not anywhere near a $100million production budget.
If they are redoing Star Wars then by all means have elements like Jedi, light sabres, “the force” and what have you. But just remember that it’s an action adventure film and ignore the baggage. Have new characters and a new story. Go back to Kurosawa if needs be but I don’t think anyone should have to have a full knowledge of Jedi hierarchy or Empire history to enjoy a couple of hours escapist thrills.
