I had reservations about watching an 80 year old Indiana Jones but have to say it does look good. Anyway, how can you not want to watch an Indiana Jones film. Apart from that even at 80 Harrison Ford looks fitter than me
Because I saw Kingdom of the Crystal Skulls…
My main issue was that they were basically a mess. And to some extent they broke “canon” if that’s the right way of putting it.
I don’t want pretend and say that the original 3 movies (Empire excluded) were exceptional screenplays etc. but they had a certain something and of course that escapism you mentioned. People bought into it and invested in them. The same can’t be said of the final three. The underlying story of chapters 1 to 6 actually have a half decent story behind them. 7 ended up being a poor rehash of 4, why? 8 was just awful, a senseless mess and 9 ended up being a horrible band aid to try and pull it all together.
Watched “Glass Onion” last night. Quite a fun cast, wife even stayed up past 10pm to finish it. Enjoyed it
Rey can fuck off. Unstoppable Mary Sue who’s just the bestest ever. She’s just going to be brilliant and amazing and strong and brave without any personal sacrifice, training or development. Flies the falcon better than Han, knows it better than Han, kicks Kylo’s arse and that’s just her first objectionable outing.
Asokatana and Mandalorian fusion is to get Grogu into Asokatana’s care (I suspect)
Star Wars is utterly dead, another sacrifice on the altar of modern sensibilities.
Remind me who’s the new leader / star of The Mandalorian? Sure as hell isn’t the man at the start. Who wants strong male leads when the force is female? Thanks KK.
The plot of the third film was essentially a rehash of the first but on the planet of the teddy bears. They ran out of ideas 40 years ago.
King Kenny or Kevin Keegan?
Sacrilege.
Hey, saw it 7 times at the pictures. Brilliant film and I STILL want a Wicket.
KK Downing!
That’s translated us to a different tangent.
Saw the Dungeons and Dragons film last night. Enjoyable film. Nothing particularly innovative etc about it, but a good genre film. Worth a watch.
I do like popping into this thread every now and then just to see whats winding people up. A different kind of entertainment, but it passes the time. Dunno if we’re supposed to review threads, but this one and tv one are good fun to check in on. Worth a read every now and then.
Yeah, looking forward to D&D but might have to wait a while. Going to watch Renfield tomorrow as far as I know.
Just finished Cocaine Bear. When it’s good, it’s very good, but there were bits I was a bit bored or annoyed by annoying characters like young Han Solo, the teenagers and that blonde kid.
Here all day for this guy though:
Just finished watching a movie called 65,
Which funnily enough is around 65 minutes too long
I have this film and the soundtrack.
Brilliant film… What a time to be alive. The songs are amazing.
@Wilkored08 , you seen this, right up your street.
Yep…brings back memories…then you have the sounds blasting out…then you want to go to a nighter…and dance !!!
I have no energy to do all nighters anymore.
Same here…I think I could manage till 3 or 4 in the morning…but it’s the music, the sounds, that would probably keep me up while 5 or 6 in the morning…
So, Renfield was really, really good.
