Thanks alot @Rambler

Iam looking at this kind map at the moment.

Sandhills is the nearest station to Anfield i think.

Here’s a tip: look at Google Maps too, there’s a function to add a public transport layer so you can visualise it.

I have done that. Its okay. I am looking at different stations and where to change.

There isn’t really any station near Anfield, but that is probably the nearest. You would need to swap at Moorfields from Chester.

Have you ever watched Inside No 9? They filmed an episode at Moorfields.

I didn’t want to comment, not being a local, but when I was there it did seem as though the rail network wasn’t the best to be getting to and from Anfield by.

LFC Parade date and times confirmed as council boss invites the club to celebrate.

The news on the LFC Parade we have all been waiting for is here and Liverpool Football Club will parade the city’s streets to officially celebrate their English League title win on Monday 26th May 2025 from 2.30pm.

The victory parade route will start at Allerton Maze and will travel north bound on Queens Drive towards the Fiveways roundabout and Rocket flyover. From there it will journey along:

• Queens Drive

• Mill Bank

• West Derby Road

• Islington

• Leeds Street

• The Strand

• Route finishes at Blundell Street

It is expected the 15km-long parade will last anywhere between 3 to 5 hours, but this is subject to change.

I was going to suggest the 26 bus for Anfield. I’m assuming it will be mobbed during the parade. The travel info from the club website is here:

I think we will either take a taxi from the city centre to Anfield. It is only 15 minutes on one of the days.

I am thinking on the day of the parade, Chester to Lime Street and then from there to Mossley Hill, then walking it to Allerton Maze.

Have a couple of hours there, then, the train back to Lime Street and get the stop to James street at for 5 pm to see the end of the parade.

Really sorry for driving you guys potty with so many queries on my getting my way around the city, as I am with my friend who is not familiar with the city centre and I need to know what I am doing, when she is with me.

I don’t know what happens during the parade but my latest trip to Anfield I took the bus from Liverpool One bus station. On match days it seems they cater a special trip regularly directly to Anfield which is great, quick, affordable. You might want to check that.

Thanks gasband.
I want to go to Formby as well.

Perhaps a separate day is best. I did Formby after Anfield, and it felt too hurried.

I think the train from Lime Street stops at West Allerton station after Mossley Hill. That would be closer to the start of the parade.

I can’t wait to see Birkenhead on the train. Then, maybe get a ferry to The Strand. What a great short cut tip from my Scouse mate

Is it open in Birkenhead? I thought the Woodside terminal was closed for refurbishment at the moment.

I will check first. My scouse mate lives in London. His parents are in Liverpool. He goes up there alot.

The train is right next to it so it isn’t a big deal if it is closed.
