The Manchester United Thread: That's It. That's the Joke (Part 1)

It’s hilarious because he is getting praised - or was getting praised - for finishing 2nd in the league which is seemingly an improvement.

But he finished 12 points behind Man City, which would have been more if City hadn’t switched off once the league was over. They were only 5 ahead of ourselves who played over half the season with no senior defenders and just 7 ahead of Chelsea who had the handicap of Frank Lampard as manager for most of the campaign.

Their home record was worse than ours when we had a spell of losing 6 in a row at Anfield! Man Utd conceded 28 goals at home, the 5th worst in the division.

If he can’t counter attack you, he can’t beat you. It’s literally the only thing Solksjaer can set up a team to do. My main worry is that with the fans back in the stadium next season and with us getting our defence back, it’ll highlight how far from achieving anything serious they are and get him fired. But hell, it’s been a good ride. Hes the perfect level of too bad to win or lay solid foundations but just good enough to give an illusion to the casual observer that those things are happening.

If he’s looking for trophies surely it’s City or PSG and City is surely the best option all round for him, no?

Edit: Hope he goes to PSG just to hear him speak French.

Great point.

But the important part is Klopp.

Just saying

What a deluded, bitter, bunch of cunts.

Just asking … How is Ole similar to Klopp in any sense what so ever?

Spot on. Solsjkaer is the real deal, he should get a 6 year extension like Klopp did.

Conveniently forgetting that his net transfer spend over that period was less than what Man United spent on captain Harry Maguire alone.

Fantastic point made. Keep Ole on and if Ole takes utd to 6 finals, only then can we make a valid comparison :+1:

In that period he won two league titles

and up against much stronger opposition for a lot of those finals…

The Caf has a thread ‘Rate the final position of PL teams’ and funnily almost everyone there is rating Liverpool a C or D, whereas United as a ‘B’ because we had ‘the worst title defense’ ever. Clueless as ever!

One of the classics from there -

Liverpool - E - pathetic title defence, poor from the manager as well with how he dealt with the injuries they got

Compared with how they dealt with losing Maguire … one win wasn’t it in 5?

In terms of attitude, bitterness, delusion, hissy-fits etc. United fans are as irrelevant as those of Everton. Lucky they have Glazers, those millions are keeping them away from midtable.

That worst title defence ever is a bit annoying now as well it’s not even close if you consider the championship as a whole over 120 years or what not and even in the PL, Chelsea at one point were near the relegation zone at Christmas, we were top.

I would say their Fergie to Moyes season was probably when you look at the table as bad as ours

And their only excuse was because Gill stepped down from the FÃ board

Effectively another shit season so let’s look how bad Liverpool have done to cheer us up, oh shit they got top 4 and only five points behind us even though it was the “worst title defence ever” and they didn’t play well for about 4 months.

The funny thing is they just need to go one season back to shatter that myth of theirs… But hey whatever makes them happy!

I think he might struggle a bit with the nasal vowels.

Great end to the season, we get top 3, utd lose Europa final and city lose champions league final, what more could we ask for.

Everton getting twatted 5-0 and finishing 10th maybe?

Oh yes, how could I forget the silly fans thought they were in a title race early season. Lol.
