The Manchester United Thread: That's It. That's the Joke (Part 1)

Quite a salary for what should surely be a back up to their big star, the best young player in world football, Jesse Lingard

United looking a little like Barcelona with that wage bill. Some big wages there. Hope they follow suit like Barcelona. Will get them goals obviously and a more winner mentality but takes away minutes from the likes of Greenwood who would have been looking to kick on and even youngsters coming through.

Good move from United though. But a good move for city to pull out also from the deal.

Imagine when Man Utd got Sanchez in , What’s to say history won’t repeat itself.

:joy:

Will he get the no 7 though or will he be CR17 then?

It seems that Ronaldo deal makes MU the highest net spenders this window? Not bad for such a heavily indebted club. Wonder where the money comes from. Pressure’ll be on Ole to bring home the silverware.

How about CR37? Truth in advertising.

Good move from Ronaldo’s agent. Pretended city wanted him so United panic and offer £500k a week for a 36yo

Also think ManU did not want to their prestige gets damaged by allowing this particular former player sign for City.

They’re saying on sky here that Ronaldo’s first choice was City but they had no interest

That’s why he’s the biggest in the world I presume. Agents must love United. Can take them to the gutter.

I am excited to see Ronaldo in the league though. Premier league looking very strong this year in the top 4 race

Ole’s first team talk: “…erm, alright Ronny, go do your thing.”

How are they going to line up? Think Ronaldo would prefer Cavani with him on the pitch and it could be a lost year for Rashford and/or Greenwood.

After all this spending, two of Chelsea, United and City are going to finish third and fourth

The definition of buying someone to stop them going to their rivals. City hit 100 points, Sanchez went on to score 5 goals in 45 games.
