The Manchester United Thread: That's It. That's the Joke (Part 1)

He’s a former Newcastle player, maybe he’s going back!

Well, they did say he was a radical appointment

Hmmm…I’d allow it!

I don’t like V necks, I’m not 50, so I often wear a round neck with shirt. But my office environment doesn’t have a stick up its arse re dress codes.

They also said United is a sacred place and that Old Trafford is a theatre of dreams…

I have 1 v neck the rest are round neck so when the V neck is in the wash it’s round neck.
I like it and noone has ever commented on it, then as they are all green they probably think they are all the same sweater.
For me it’s about keeping warm which is imperative at my age and physical state. So I have a nice sweater I wear it what ever the neck (except that on with the roll neck that strangles me).

I like both, but of course not in all situations.

When I have dress shirt underneath my sweather (though not often), it’s V-neck all day.

But when there’s no dress shirt underneath, it can be whatever, round neck or V-neck.

Where do you stand on sleeveless sweaters?

Roy Hodgson must have a few. :joy:

I haven’t got any, but if I had I’d wear them what ever the neck as they keep you warm and allow good arm movement.

As long as they don’t strangle me of course.

And whilst we are on dire fashion - what the actual fuck is it with these sweaters (v neck or otherwise) that have shirt collars and sleeve ends sewn in to them?

A few years ago, at a family dinner, my brother in law, was wearing one of these. It was a cold day out but inside it was nice and toasty, and he sat there sweating profusely. When I suggested he take his jumper off, he revealed the reality of his “shirt” and had no choice but to stay sat in it as he had nothing else on underneath. They should be binned, and anyone choosing to adorn one can go in the bin too.

Not as bad as jeans with designer holes in them, or those things they wear round their ankles. Pants that end at the chest …
Teeshirts with shirt sleeves.
I wish the world could get a grip. I mean slim fit trousers that get stuck on my massive calfs, slim fit shirts you can not move in …

I understand Ronald McDonald wants to copy his new manager and wear a round neck sweater… But apparently he can’t…
Yes he can pull it over over his head like the rest of us, no problem…
But there is no way he can continue to pull it over his adam’s apple.! :0)
Personally, I have never seen one like it in my entire life…
He could actually score with that from a cross

My current work garb. No ties.

Dig the longcoat. Is that part of the ensemble? I mean, that’s not a raincoat or outside coat?

It’s a light overcoat. I was just about to go out to grab a drink when I took the photo.
