The Manchester United Thread: That's It. That's the Joke (Part 1)

I cannot make that make sense :man_shrugging:

It’s mindblowing @Limiescouse. Literally no justifiable reason for it. He’s already under long term contract and has been underperforming. Literally the opposite of an opportune time to double his wages and add years to his contract.

To quote Shakespeare: it is a club run by an idiot, full of shite and dross, winning nothing.

Their thinking on it is being reported as protecting themselves from the effect of losing Pogba this summer.

That’s like me seeking protection from someone who wants to give me a million quid.

Do they not understand how contracts work?

Well of course they fucking don’t. Woodward might be gone, but the rot goes so much deeper, they literally haven’t a fucking clue how to run a football club. How long before the fans start demanding Ten Hag out?

He hasn’t even confirmed he is negotiations yet, so any day would be my guess

It only makes sense if you assume Prestige Worldwide is handling all contracts.

Last week they put Liquid Paper on a bee, and it….died….

Well if Ronaldo leaves he gets to take pens again.

Seems excessive for a gold medal diver…
How much could they have got Tom Daley for me wonders…

I might be missing something on social / caf / bbc but who, what, where and why?

Toothy Joe = Bruno
He’s currently on 120k pw by all accounts, and is under contract until 2025 with a one-year club option to 2026. He’s been shite for 18 months, so the smart thing would be to wait for the new manager, give him a season or two to see if he can fit with the new style and then think about a new contract if his performance warrants it. As usual though, the United brass believes that tying mediocre players down to lucrative extended contracts is somehow “protecting their assets”, they’re just fucking morons who don’t know how to run a club.

The prevailing wisdom is that Eric Ten Hag - current Ajax manager - will be their new manager coming in this summer. His relative recent success with Ajax might normally be cause for concern that they are turning the corner, but in reality, he’ll just be another footnote on the mountain of shit that is Man United post-SAF.

I was under the illusion that we don’t talk about Bruno?

Sorry……

What a pathetic bootlicking piece by a Utd mouthpiece. Portugal are NO LONGER dependent on Ronaldo…this about a team who 6 years ago won its only ever major final without Ronaldo.

To be fair of the 8 goals they scored on the way to the final, he was involved in 6 of them (3 goals, 3 assists).

Doh

Portugal would be immediately stronger if Bruno and Ronaldo arent in the starting xi.

Ronaldo can be a very valuable impact sub , he doesnt have the legs anymore to last the whole match and doesnt work enough off the ball and bruno at best is a squad player.

Would require huge balls by the national team coaching setup to do that though

Bernardo as an AM along with Jota and Felix as attackers. Pair with an Ottavio if need be. The midfield has the likes of Sanches and Neves. Something like this should be their first choice XI. Not sure how their defense shapes up (apart from dias) though.
