The Manchester United Thread: That's It. That's the Joke (Part 1)

Bet man utd fans wish he would rather have done than nutmeg himself to give an assist to city during that match

I wish we could see what came next!

Hahahaha. “But Manchester United are a commercial club, so it’s a difficult choice for a coach. He’d better go to a football club.”

And I didn’t remember correctly…

He did it once in a pre-season game in the US, kept doing it, people began expecting it, and not one to pass up a marketing opportunity, it’s now his thing.

What a time to be alive, hey?

I can imagine the conversation with Darren Fletcher now.

“The fans love it when I SUIIIIII, Daz.”
“No, they think you’re a fucking penis and think its hysterical they have conned you into believing they think you are cool when you do that shite. The look of glee on their face when you do it is not in enjoyment of the goal, but in the pride they have at coaxing you yet again into acting the twat.”
“Suiiiiiiiiii”

rather reminds me of ric flair

He has been to the Far East, so he might or might not have picked it up there.
In a vernacular of our part of the world (in the Far East), it sound as a homophone for the widely exclaimed appreciation; “sweet, pretty, nice, beautiful, great, outstanding”…and more.
I can imagine during his demo sessions to groups of kiddos and impressionable youths, the crowd shouting out suiii everytime he executes his moves.
So, he probably like the sound and adopt it as his “war cry”.
Anyway, it’s just my conjecture but could very well turn out to be the origin. If so, credit to me for “getting to the bottom of the mystery”.

England 0-0 Ivory Coast

Phil McNulty

Not the warmest of receptions when the name of Harry Maguire was read out - in fact a fair few jeers around Wembley.

Part of me remembers him. Part of me thinks he should be long dead. Most of me is pretty sure he’s still wrestling……
