United cunts who used to laugh at our ‘net spend’ arguments may finally see that it is a good lead indicator - really the statistical point of difference in these stats (obviously much more going on too) and a key pointer that ole really wasnt going to turn the wheel.

Do you know. I woke up this morning and thought, shouldn’t I give United a try? I mean all this player development and building a team within a budget is all well and good but wouldn’t it be more interesting to follow a team that gets a new manager every other year, spends an absolute fortune on complete donkeys and has a stadium that could implode at any moment.
So, I am going to support Manchester United. At least until midday. If that doesn’t work out I’ll wait another year and give Everton a shot.

I love their analysis of Ten Hag only conceeding 0.48 goals per game - but they fail to factor in the fact that he doesn’t have to contend with Maguire at the heart of his defence, so that stat is surely massively scewed in it’s biase

I think the problem was that he was earning around 90k a week. This is more about him getting a better salary. Esp seeing as what slabhead rashford etc earn

But it’s also a case of committing long term and salary that now makes it difficult to get rid of him to a player who directly creates many of their imbalances and provides a challenge to the manager to set up an effective team around him…before they’ve signed their new manager and got his input on the situation.

I havent followed the dutch league at all and what i saw of Ajax was them cruising through an easy CL group (which had Dortmund but the same Dortmund got their arses handed to them by Rangers) to keep it in perspective.
Not taking anything away from Ten Haag , he has done very well with unfancied names. But at this point , the United job may well be beyond him. Have a year or two at a decent footballing club like Southampton , Leverkuesen … Heck even Dortmund before this.

I agree, the job he has done at Ajax has been really good, but I find it funny when one of he’s biggest plus points is his defence, and they expect that to continue despite suddenly having Slabhead in the middle of his defence

As of now Bruno Sancho and Varane are the only guys who have some sembleance of a resale value or who will be of interest to clubs. Two of them are new signees and hence not an immediate issue
De Gea might but hes getting paid an insane amount of money that no team would touch.
