The Manchester United Thread: That's It. That's the Joke (Part 1)

Nah he tends to keep it in the family

To be fair to him he has no forward line. How can you spend £400m and not have any functioning forward line and forced to start with Bruno up front? Just how is it possible.

Is ETH locked in??

I zoned out this week…Goldbridge is talking like it’s a done deal.

I know he hasn’t signed but has there been some rock solid gossip?

Nah they’ll fuck it up. Poch incoming.

Finished second, then brought in the world class Varane, brought Sancho back home and landed the goat, and will finish without european football. Just wonderful.

Textbook case of believing your own hype.

Please, don’t make me laugh at them more. Enough is enough. My stomach can’t stomach it.

They’re a fanbase that sniffs their own farts more than just about any other. Their boom/bust cycle has become delightfully predictable now, even moreso than ours for all those years.

Get. The fuck. In.

The rest of us mock United. Pep sticks the knife in and gives it a big ole twist.

To think at the start of the season , they were boasting about being stocked at forwards. In fact , they played 4 forwards against us at old trafford.

Cavani (hes done)
Ronny
Rashford
Martial
Greenwood
Lingard (if used as a wide winger)
Sancho (the sorry sod)

You cant blame them for the greenwood situation but in about half a season , they essentially are playing Bruno as a shadow striker and a half cooked no where ready Elanga.

Pep probably wants them to appoint ETH.

Yeah, this is classic Pep shithousery. He did it with Maguire, Sancho, Ronaldo too. United are so easy to goad into stupid costly moves, and Pep has mastered the art of making them do it. The cunt.

To be fair , they bought Bruno cause Liverpool liked him then and then decided that the asking price was too high.

Doesn’t matter for me who the Man Utd manager is but i’d love to see the meltdown at redcafe if both Poch and Ten Haag turn down the post and Tuchel decides to stick with Chelsea.

A little honesty from the caf:

It certainly is the hope that kills you. Every week even though I know it’s not getting any better I convince myself that maybe today will be the day that I’ll see a performance a spark a bit of creativity but there is absolutely nothing in the tank of these players. We are finished as a big club absolutely plummeting down the ranks.

What I do find baffling is that today there were no youth substitutions at all and certainly not entertained, I don’t know about the youth players but this Hannibal lad is he any worse than Fred and mctominay? The crowd would get a pick me up straight away if he played him or any of the youth.

what a desperate time for us fans, it’ll definitely be interesting to see what happens over the next few seasons but the reality is, it’s going to be really awful. Which I can accept because the writing is on the wall but it is the hope that kills you.

If this slide continues for another 10-15 years , What the poster says about manchester united being finished as a big club will ring through. The older generation of fans will die out and the newer lot won’t support a team which isn’t winning unless they’ve been brainwashed by their parents etc…

But as of now, Man Utd is among the top 3 clubs in the world in terms of revenue , popularity etc with a slightly bigger fanbase than ours and no , I’m not including artificially inflated clubs there. They are still a big club. The fact that they do nothing about it is what makes it more fun for me.

This was exactly my point of view during Hodgson’s reign, though there were some moments afterwards that were pretty depressing as well. We picked ourselves up from an incomparably more difficult position, so I have no doubt that they will manage it in time, too. Their playing staff and academy are much better than ours were ten years ago and their finances are out of this world. That said, the league is much, much stronger than ten years ago, so I still harbour hopes that they will at least equal our barren run of 1990-2019 - only without any Champions League trophies in the meantime.

Problem is the get deluded over any slight improvement, remember Ralf’s run of unbeaten games when they had mostly faced dross.

Man Utd’s ex manager Louis Van Gaal has been battling prostrate cancer in secret all this while, going to hospitals for treatment at night without the players knowing. While he had shameful moments while he was manager of Man Utd…cannot deny that he has won alot as a manager throughout his career and more importantly, hope he recovers and have victory over cancer.
