The Manchester United Thread: That's It. That's the Joke (Part 1)

I actually turned off the (French) commentary on this game yesterday to listen to this muppet instead.

It turned out to be ninety minutes of unadulterated hilarity. Although I’m still not sure which was funnier ; Utd’s performance or his.

Great stuff !

reports that he has handed in a transsfer request, so that one might still go ahead. But I struggle to see why he would want to swap 1 relegation battle club for another relegation battle club

I’d be very surprised… he signed a new 5-year contract literally days ago, professing his love for the club.

As @ZinedineBiscan said, he just signed a contract extension. So either he is staying or United is going to be ripped off, again.

Trying to find the link I saw it, but it said that the request came after he signed the contract extension so suggests Utd getting bend over the couch by Villa

A day after being pummelled by Palace? Contrary to popular opinion, United clearly do like it up ‘em.

I’m struggling to articulate it why I have a problem with it, but seeing Shaw respond to yesterday’s result by claiming Utd need to buy more players is precisely why they’re in this situation. It just seems like the sort of thing someone would say if they’re not taking ownership of doing better.

Won’t he be the one to be replaced if they buy new players? How come players come out with such statements, undermining their own teammates. Strange.

Stacy Giggs paid him to do that.

Worth asking Shaw if signing some of the Palace players might then help.

Ole…

How did Bayern do this weekend, Ole?

This is where you can tell he’s been faking all the stuff about Utd traditions. You cannot say on one day about what the standards are at the club like Utd, and then the first time it doesnt go well just say “oh well, but what can we do?”

He like Rodgers. He’s read book about what leaders are supposed to say, but it’s all just empty rhetoric without the force of will and know how to make those statements their shared reality.

It is amusing that the player Utd are now most strongly linked to is Alex Telles from Porto…a left back

Imagine United fans watching that Fab performance at CB whilst knowing they spent 80 MN on a fridge.

Or Pep whining about having lost Laporte last season.
