Letās face it: if the Hamas leaders had the means, theyād commit full-scale genocide against the Jews in Israel. It would be horrible. They fortunately havenāt these means, but if they had them at disposal, we all know what would happen. On October 7, they used all their available means. When you kill 1.4k harmless civilian people in one day just because they are Jewish, then you are committing genocide in my book.
As for Israel, they are on the best way to committing genocide themselves. Time will tell how we will call all this later, but itās absolutely barbaric anyway, and needs to be called out as such.

It appears that the Biden White House doesnāt want to break with Israel, but believes the Netanyahu government has crossed the line. If Blinken is saying what he is publicly, behind closed doors they have to be taking a stronger position.

Would it? Much as we all might wish it, this isnāt going to stop anytime soon. The best case is it slows down, and that there are pauses that let innocent Palestinians get out of the way - maybe even a ceasefire brokered around hostage release. But if Biden gets this wrong, the political balance will tilt heavily towards the MAGA GOP, who see absolutely nothing wrong with what Israel is doing. Christian fundamentalists in the US are far more extreme in their views on Israel than most American Jews.

Another country leading negotiations would probably achieve nothing. Only the US holds leverage and sway with Israel and could potentially force it to stop. Unfortunately, all that Biden has done is to enable Netanyahuās revenge.
Biden himself might have been far less supportive if he hadnāt had to worry about the extreme evangelical nutjobs, which isnāt an excuse but it does set the context in which he has to operate as @Arminius alludes to. If the orange turd gets re-elected by those maga cunts, there is no telling how much worse things could become.
