Bombed front of hospital and ambulance today. As standard they say Hamas were on it and everyone will justify. They’d hit a playgroup and people would argue Hamas were there singing nursery rhymes

Let’s face it: if the Hamas leaders had the means, they’d commit full-scale genocide against the Jews in Israel. It would be horrible. They fortunately haven’t these means, but if they had them at disposal, we all know what would happen. On October 7, they used all their available means. When you kill 1.4k harmless civilian people in one day just because they are Jewish, then you are committing genocide in my book.

As for Israel, they are on the best way to committing genocide themselves. Time will tell how we will call all this later, but it’s absolutely barbaric anyway, and needs to be called out as such.

yep.

around october 8th i understood that isreal had to do something.

this isnt it.

time…(well past time)…for the americas and the europes of the world to step in and stop this…this is beyond barbaric…this will be seen as one of the most shameful episodes in modern western politics if we keep staying silent.

i wish the australian prime minister would just call it as it is…this HAS to stop.

It appears that the Biden White House doesn’t want to break with Israel, but believes the Netanyahu government has crossed the line. If Blinken is saying what he is publicly, behind closed doors they have to be taking a stronger position.

Making damn all difference what ever he’s saying.

Best thing America could do is fuck off and stay out of it. Stop funding the Israeli war machine and let another country lead negotiations and diplomacy

Jewish lobby in US won’t ā€˜allow’ this, sadly.

its beyond lobby groups and vested interests now.

its actually at the point where the ā€˜political suicide’ biden would be making is worth it.

its one thing to say theres lots of moving parts and things are going on behind closed doors and everyones trying thier best…

nah uh… its now at the point where Isreal is given 24 hours (far too much time) to withdraw and stop.

if they need to be given that warning from someone who then wont be in a job on monday…then so be it…it woud be worth the sacrafice.

i know we are fuck all in the scheme of things, but it could start here with Albanese…its only the last straw that breaks the camels back…we could do well putting the first one on.

this is disgusting. alot of things are disgusting that go on, but this is beyond most things i have witnessed in my ā€˜aware’ adult life…

Would it? Much as we all might wish it, this isn’t going to stop anytime soon. The best case is it slows down, and that there are pauses that let innocent Palestinians get out of the way - maybe even a ceasefire brokered around hostage release. But if Biden gets this wrong, the political balance will tilt heavily towards the MAGA GOP, who see absolutely nothing wrong with what Israel is doing. Christian fundamentalists in the US are far more extreme in their views on Israel than most American Jews.

1.yes. (opinion)

2.why not? anything is possible, especially considering its an unsustainable and expensive rampage

Fundamentally, because right now Netanyahu and Hamas are both getting exactly what they want.

It’s gotten to this extent because they and other countries involved themselves needlessly in this matter.

Supporting tyrants indulging in genocides and other warcrimes isn’t new for US btw.

As is the case when they attempted to threaten India during the Bangladesh liberation war by sending a carrier. To now sending aircraft carriers to Israel.

This is enabling the actions. Doing virtue signalling over the same is deeply hypocritical.

I think if you open the ledger of deaths post WW2 , US has more blood in its hands than Soviet/Russia.

but that wasnt the suggestion ( for them to sort it out between the two of them) hence America to intervene…

not to be little the situation…but seperate the kids from squabbling if they cant do it themselves. take the toys of both of them.

Another country leading negotiations would probably achieve nothing. Only the US holds leverage and sway with Israel and could potentially force it to stop. Unfortunately, all that Biden has done is to enable Netanyahu’s revenge.

Biden himself might have been far less supportive if he hadn’t had to worry about the extreme evangelical nutjobs, which isn’t an excuse but it does set the context in which he has to operate as @Arminius alludes to. If the orange turd gets re-elected by those maga cunts, there is no telling how much worse things could become.
