Unfortunately, reactionary, forever distrusting, anti-establishment groups are pretty much the dominant force in all public discourse nowadays, regardless of field. Even if it’s a faux anti-establishment group led and dominated by the very same elites the group ostensibly stands against.

According the Forbes list of most valuable football clubs, our value is 4.1 billion USD which is equal to 3 billion GBP. So it seems that any potential buyer would have to pay more than we are valued at. Not that I want FSG to sell, despite what I may have said in the heat of the moment last week. They are still the best owners that we could have.

The only 1 that stands out for me is Leicester City.
They seem to always get the tone correct and make the right decisions. Apart from that, Brighton owner seems to always make the right decision, but is similar to FSG in that he doesn’t plow endless cash into the club and wants the club to operate sustainably.

The Brighton owner can’t afford to sink much money into the club as by comparison he isn’t any where near as wealthy as other owners.
Very smart cookie though, was a successful gambler. Lifelong Brighton fan I think. I hope it works out well for him.

After his apology I think I was the first to post that I’m happy if they don’t sell (and I don’t think they will sell the Club)
They should try to stay in the background as much as possible from now on and we’re good.
I also think that the next time we see them at Anfield will be for Klopps farewell in a few years - and even then they might get booed out of the continent.
- When it comes to football FSG proved that they are no better than the sheiks. Vice president of the ESL - just saying.
No doubt the sheiks are responsible for some evil stuff but there are other threads to discuss that.

To be fair to him, I think he has done a good job at LC. He can still get doses of the old verbal diarrhea, but he seems more rounded and better manager than the one we had.

In terms of football only you realise that the ESL was itself a direct consequence of the financial doping from these human rights abusing oligarchs and petrostates?
Just in football terms they’re far more insidious than FSG.

You can’t so easily step away from your statement that they’re worse than the oil barons and shieks. Unless you were wrong and you wish to retract? Or double down, I really don’t mind. I remember on TIA when my old adversary Showmethemoney was waxing about DIC and Sheikh Mo buying the club.
I had an uneasiness about that.
I remember Shinawatra looking at buying the club, I had a serious uneasiness about that.
I remember a Chinese consortium linked and had that same unease.
I also remember the first Hicks and Gillette day at Anfield when their interviews were cringeworthy and you suspected false promise.
I never had a bad feeling about John Henry.
He and FSG have made mistakes, but the latest one was no win no matter what they did.
If the ESL was successful and Liverpool were left behind there would have been a lot of whining as well. I was/am against the ESL, but imagine a scenario where Arsenal are buying Mbappe or Messi whilst we are considering Joelinton?
There would be uproar.
Huge mistakes made, but lets have a bit of context. I hope FSG dont sell, but now understand that there is a formula for financial success with supporters on board.
