The Owners - FSG

The day of the decision that RBS could sell us to whomever they wanted (effectively foreclosing on the loan they gave Hicks and Gillett).

TIA was the only forum still online if I recall correctly. The others all crashed under the load.

I guarantee you that if FSG do sell, the new owners (whomever they are) will be hated by some from day one.

100%.

You know the irony? People will hate them because theyā€™re rich.

Meanwhile, in another thread on an LFC forum, demands are made to heavily tax the mega rich. Does that extend to somebody who might own us? ā€œSorry, canā€™t sign X Ā£90m midfielder because we now have to give that money to the governmentā€. The insanity of socialists supporting and truly hoping for the fruits of capitalism.

Th amount of money in the game is spoiling it for me, when players have 1 good half season and are then quoted 80 - 90 million it is getting ridiculous.

I have loved that we have unearthed talents like Robbo and developed players, rather than splashing the big money. But we just donā€™t seem to be unearthing them or with the likes of Jude they move to Dortmund where they know they have a better development path.

I donā€™t know the answer, as the authorities have let football down with their ineffective way of handling FFP.

Just need a whole new shift in regards to football financing

Never happening. More and more money. Football is purely about the Ā£Ā£Ā£Ā£ now.

I know but it would be one of my 3 wishes, if I could only find that genie bottle

Iā€™f I won the mega lottery Iā€™d buy United and destroy them. Call me childish, call me bitter, call me petty. I donā€™t care.

LFC needs owners that gives a damn. Clearly, FSG isnā€™t given how they were focused on acquiring American sports franchises in the last few years.

I wonder what will some fans feel if the Qataris decided to just set a huge budget for LFC to fully rejuvenate the whole team in 2 transfer windows, get young talented footballers in globally by having feeder teams in South America and giving football scholarships to local young footballers?

I swear I am clean

or the new owners are not the same race as themā€¦

Youā€™re on your own thereā€¦ā€¦

Yes, for me at least. I donā€™t care about making Ā£90m signings.

Already looking forward to being called a racist when I object to the Qatari government buying the club :+1:. Newcastle fans were quick to whip that one out too.

What if this is a Qatari private sector buying the club as the likelihood of QSI having to let go of PSG to buy Liverpool is low due to UEFA regulations?

Would you still support the club?

Yeah that would likely be fine.

Its not going to happen but sure if we got bought by a Qatari textiles merchant or something then sounds great.

Not what is being rumoured though, is it?

So if QSI cannot buy over LFC totally without letting PSG go, this can only mean a minority investment in LFC. That will be more of the same. FSGā€™s famous Sell and buy.

So thatā€™s why I think the bid is most likely private sector based.
