According to transfermarkt we’ve spent about €140m and brought in €80m this season. Last season it was €87m and €30m.
Fuck net spend. I was bored of that argument when Rafa was here and I’m even more board of it now.
The fact remains that since winning the European Cup, Liverpool FC have spend £300m on incoming players. Only 10% of that money has been spent on midfielders.
The midfield issues are nothing to do with FSG. We’ve got 5 lads who want to play on the left of attack, and only one senior DM. How is that FSGs fault?

That’s why City with their what was it, half a billion spent on full-backs obviously have better full-backs than our miserly £20m spend…

It made sense as an argument under Rafa because it was used to demonstrate that the team was being cannibalised and in reality the funds being invested were not cumulative - which was generally what people where trying to position the club with comparisons to Utd and Chelsea.
Under FSG we’re selling largely because a player is wanting to leave or not a key player, so the argument is less relevant.

That’s what many assume based off the rumours put out by “news” publications, but FSG’s official statement only mentioned new shareholders.
On the other hand, about the Red Sox, they were not asked about any new shareholders, only whether they were selling. So the answer is obviously no.

How generous :). And still we sold and lost a world class player in Mane to fund Nunez… Now compare their spending with Arsenal, Manure, Chelsea, City or the other teams fighting for top 4.

On point one:
We simply haven’t competed for 4th since they took over. If justice prevailed and FFP was real we would have 2 more titles. Its totally unfair to just forget the level we are competing at the last few seasons.

I’m just pointing out the differences between the statements made by the primary sources, and the rumours made by clickbait “journalists” or the interpretations by different people.
I’m not even claiming that they’re necessarily prioritising Liverpool over the Red Sox either. I’m just pointing out that there’s not that much that you can make that claim on.

Did we sell Mané to fund Núñez? Or did we buy Núñez at more than twice the price we got to replace someone who wanted to leave, is not getting any younger, and was approaching a point beyond which we wouldn’t get anything for him?
