The Owners - FSG

I’m not assuming its credibility either way at this point. It is possible that it’s nonsense. I do find it curious that nothing has been reported regarding a replacement for Ward for the last few months, but perhaps there has been progress which hasn’t been reported by anyone.

You are free to stand simply on the point that you think that report is false, and I won’t fight you on that point if you so choose. I just think that if it is indeed true, then it might be an indication of an imminent sale for the reasons I described.

We might be looking for a new DOF, or we might not. At the least you would have to think that we are aware of, and maybe making some initial contact with possible candidates, but not with too much vigor because…

The main issue at the club is what is happening with regard to ownership.

Get some clarity at the top, and then everything else will have an opportunity to fall into place - DOF, midfield rebuild, squad refresh, refreshed vision to regroup and go for it again.

Right now it is as flat as a pancake. Results are poor and we are in limbo. There are lots of reasons coming together to add to the malaise, but for me, sort out ownership and give us clarity there, whatever that looks like, and then everything else can start to fall into place,

You don’t have to be Sherlock Holmes to know something is seriously wrong behind the scenes at the club. People are leaving in droves. The team that almost won a cuadruple is unrecognisable. I’ve never seen us so crap, ever and I’ve been following us since mid 70’s.

I can’t believe it’s because in 8 months everyone has declined so much physically. Our tactics are terrible. Why is Nuñez wide left and Gapko centre? Why put Harvey wide left? If our midfield is shot physically, why not drop 20 metres and rely on attacking pace?

We’ll find out something in the future I’m sure.

This article offers no new facts or informations, it’s just someone venting his frustrations.

( I’m not redalways btw. )

Your memory is very selective it seems. Rodgers had far worse periods, Hodgson’s days were utter crap, Rafa had also his difficult periods, and Houillier’s team towards the end was hard to watch. That’s what I’ve been following directly, and what we see today is far better imo, also right now, in the midst of a full-grown injury crisis, and with the players’ confidence currently in pieces.

Be careful what you wish for, we don’t know what tomorrow will be made of. We could eventually end up with a Mike Ashley type owner, who then appoints Big Sam to ‘steady the ship’. :see_no_evil:

I’ve already asked the question several times, but no-one among those wishing fsg to leave have yet given an answer: if a change has to be made in their opinion, who would for sure be a better club owner than them?

Disagree with this but no question about the rest.

Hypothetical. Klopp’s so busy arguing with the management about the future, signings, new owners etc that the back of the club is utterly toxic. Staff leaving like rats off a ship, players see this and properly unhappy and Klopp’s utterly taken his eyes off the team and the ball.

Has to be some explanation and chaos seems as good as any to me.

I am, but they’re looking for redalywas…

Rodgers had one Suarez-fuelled good season and absolute droll otherwise. Hodgson, the less said the better. Even Kenny’s second season on his return was worse. It’s like some people have such recency bias that they cannot remember how terrible some of these periods were…

Also, 2020-21?

I’ll ask this over and over again, but isn’t the staff turnover about average if you look at it over the longer-term? Even if you take into account rumoured departures rather than those actually confirmed by the club, we’ve had rather good luck with retaining some of the backroom staff for so long that it’s not surprising that we might be losing more suddenly some of them may feel that it’s time for a change to try something else.

Dross? I wasn’t that amused when he sent the reserves out against Real Madrid.

It was laughable that that team did better than the “good” team we sent out in the other leg…

It was also laughable that despite being vaunted as the second coming, once Suarez left there was nothing there but an inability to organise a defence and a great ability to blame everyone else but himself…

More seriously, laughing was all I had left after the despair…

He wasn’t given the tools.

Or LFC could eventually end up with an Arab owner who splashes the cash for 5 seasons straight in the playing staff, coaching staff, support staff and the community?

I doubt anyone has left due to their pay and conditions outside of the players. They could have offered Edwards a fortune he wanted a break.

If you are one of the leading people in your field however well you are paid you will eventually feel an itch.

My conditions at work are fine and I’m getting a slight rise soon but I’m feeling after 6 years that it’s time for a change.

But yeah with the community they’ve sucked you in well on that.

I rather have an owner who will buy everyone off so that we beat everyone 20-0 every single match. Why win the hard way?

Because we are Liverpool and we do things the right and honest way.

City fans wear blue not Red.

I apologize for restarting games in FM whenever I lose :pensive:

Edwards moving on after 10 years is definitely understandable but Ward leaving after one year in the role is more concerning.

I would assume it’s more to do with constraints in the job though. It seemed to surprise a few. He has also been here a while up to Julian Ward anyone who left effectively left for a promotion.

It’s the same with the guy who left Klopp’s side, everyone wanted to tell a story about it but I think if the story has been juicy then the silence would have been broken by now. Working relationships break down giving them more pay when a relationship or tenure has run its course is usually the worst idea.

I have a feeling it’s connected to the sale and we may never really know.
