The Owners - FSG

So Chelsea fans in reality

If thatā€™s our midfield next season then Iā€™d say weā€™ve not improved it enough, not enough physicality for one, but this is semantics now and moving to opinions on players suited rather than the point.

Which is we donā€™t just need midfielders, we need to strength the defenceā€¦ There is a lot of work to be done. Thatā€™s my point about backing Klopp, no shortcuts, no asking to prioritise one area ahead of the other. Giving him the backing to refresh the entire squad.

Maybe, but I dont think it drove anything. The story we were ā€œup for saleā€ was already in full flow in the 2 weeks between the initial report of us engaging the banks and Werner making those comments. In that period Liverpool had made 2 direct comments on the issue, both saying our interest in bringing in a partner was long standing and nothing had changed.

In isolation Wernerā€™s comments look like heā€™s saying theyā€™re interested in selling, but in context he was clearly saying ā€œif there is a great offer weā€™ll consider it.ā€ All it did was reinforce for people who had already decided there was destabilizing uncertainty at the club being up for sale was to confirm their presumption, which is probably why Werner is generally pushed to the back of the line when it comes to speaking about Liverpool

There is also a reality that the shifts in the American sports calendar mean spring training is no longer the big buzz that it used to be. Every year there are stories over extrapolating the meaning of a lack of interest/coverage in the beginning of the spring season because among the group who overreact like this every year there is the refusal to accept this isnt the 70s anymore and Pitchers and Catchers reporting is no longer the important mark on our sporting calendar. In truth, baseball gets a bit of interest on opening day, then really largely disappears until June or July.

I hear you on Werner being pushed to the back of the line on speaking about Liverpool! We remember VVD.

However we interpret things, at the least it is all a lot more clear now. Minor investment being discussed with interested parties. Henry hopeful that a deal will be done.

We wait to see the details, so we can pick over the bones of it.

Hopefully it will be enough to see Jurgen backed to finish building his new team. It is part way there, but there are some glaring holes that need improving.

Iā€™ve heard the two big players FSG are gunning for in the summer are Fekir and Teixeira.

Can anyone confirm?

I will not be happy until Cherno Samba shows us what he can do!

Yes thatā€™s not what I would do either. But thatā€™s not the point Iā€™m making.

Say we buy Ndicka for free, will that sufice or is that FSG not backing Klopp?

Weā€™re never privvy to that information about what Klopp actually needs or wants to compete with.

ā€œThe squad can easily be improved by buying six world class Ā£80m midfielders.ā€

Agreed.

ā€œand Klopp says he is happy with his squad, then that should be enough.ā€

Thereā€™s a difference between being ok and being happy. Thereā€™s also the element of doing your job and being professional. Thereā€™s no need to assume either.

Any player bought will be agreed. Otherwise the player wonā€™t be joining. That doesnā€™t mean the club is going all out either. Setting the bar stool out so to say.

Too young, we need experienced heads on the pitch.

This is getting circular, not sure your angle so Iā€™m out.

Taribo West was rumoured, and if he wonā€™t sign Lucas Rabede is back up.

Weā€™ll need to all chip Ā£1 into the server meter if heā€™s ever linked again. Made War and Peace look like a Mr Men book.

It was nothing on David Villa.

Valencia wanted Ā£20m for him, if I remember correctly. Obscene money.

Interesting 25 years is the same time Iā€™ve followed Baseball.

Yankees
San Fran by the way.

And I can see why if you followed Boston for the last 25 years youā€™d probably feel a bit down.

All the teams in the AL East have shown improvement and the Yankees currently the best of the bunch are still a mile and half away from Houston.

Seems a lot of discontent stems from the Mookie Betts contract situation.

Do you think some of our fans are getting like that as well?

For me being up there challenging is what I want, but the competition and money at the top table in the Premier league is always going to make it hard and it isnā€™t going to get easier.

For me I just enjoy watching us play good football and then hopefully the trophies come as part of that.

His point is crystal clear. We canā€™t say if Klopp has or hasnā€™t been backed by the owners because we are not privvy to that information.

What we can say is good/bad decisions were made because that is something we can see and judge with our own eyes.
