All the players have tweeted against it. Still nothing from the owners. An absolute disgrace.

For all those wanting FSG out and ready to burn John Henry at the stake Iā€™d caution to be careful what you wish for. They havenā€™t been perfect by any means but they have brought success and pride back to the Club as well as ensuring that the infrastructure and value of the Club has been improved by a tangible and significant amount. No matter what, the overall legacy that they will leave will be a positive one.

If they do leave then who? Some billionaire philanthropist with his head in the clouds who will give every supporter what they want without any care in the world while himself not involved with sportswashing and the sovereign wealth of a nation? Yeah, Iā€™m not so sure that is possible. So if they do go, FSG, then while everyone may be celebrating this victory now, I fear that in the final reckoning it may very well turn out to be a Phyrric one with our hands too small to hold it.

I donā€™t expect them to sell and if Iā€™m being honest I donā€™t want them to.

But we have every right to be forever angry with them. That includes booing if they come to Anfield etc.

They felt the power of the Club and the Fans and maybe them Americans understand now why football is by far the biggest sport in the world.

Hopefully itā€™s lesson learned for them.

The list of viable buys is vanishingly small, and incredibly unsatisfactory.

On the contrary, Warren Buffett has made a lot of ordinary people extremely wealthy over the course of his life and is giving most of his money away to charity.

What lesson?

I have been saying this. The club is valued at over 1B. People who can buy this club are most certainly worse than FSG. We are on the verge of a very tumultuous and potentially bleak future.

We have two options

  1. We live within our means. That will mean living on the fringes of the elite football.

  2. We end up an owner in the class of Sheikhs and Roman and bankroll to success.

I think they will sell not that Iā€™m calling for it, 3 days ago it would have worried me greatly, now Iā€™m a bit non plussed.

My take on this is the following. When a Liverpool player is guilty of an error leading to a goal, we slag him off for a while, deservedly so, but then we regroup behind him. When Klopp commits mistakes during a match, we fulminate for a while, but thereā€™s no way we would want him to go or something. He holds his hands up, we know that heā€™s a human being after all, and get back behind him immediately. Thatā€™s how it works.

I think that fsg, considering the good things they have done for the club as a whole, deserve the same treatment: letā€™s slag them off by any means, as harshly as is deserved for their stupid move. Letā€™s ask for an apology from them if it doesnā€™t come from itself. Then, after a while, we all regroup and pull together in the same direction which is to make the club as successful as possible.

The aim has to be the same here for everyone: the more successful LFC becomes on the pitch, the more successful it will be off it.

Starting a cabal against fsg and asking them to sell the club would put us into a very dangerous and unpredictible situation, with only one certainty: a lot of instability to come. Thatā€™s definitely not what we need at this point.

Just have a look around here mate. Plenty of that going around. All manner of random social media hysterics to ram the point even further. Itā€™s hysterical and ridiculous, quite frankly. And then watching all this explode reminds of that Steven King novel, ā€˜The Mistā€™.

The knee jerk reactions on calling FSG Out are not surprising, but people really need to ā€œbe careful what you wish forā€.

Itā€™s done, LFC is out for ESL. I agree that 100% the owners made the wrong move to join in the first place. However, in the context of their ownership, they havenā€™t been bad at all. They gave us the the stability to build the team back up. We are finally back up to the elite status that this team belongs in. They spent money building the new training facility and expanding anfield. We have financial stability to make signings when we need to. They hired the right people for the club to manage and bring the club out of the dark age. For the most part theyā€™ve been hands off owner, and they let the right people to make the football decisions.
Like the boss said, theyā€™re good people, and I caution fans that want to run them out of the club. No owners are perfect and FSG are no exceptions. They made the ESL decision as a businessman and not as the owner of our beloved club. I am not saying they should be forgiven, but just like everyone growing up, we all go through mistake after mistake and learn how to be better in the future.
I blame this whole ESL fiasco on the greed of RM and UTD. The ones that really wanted this are the heavily indebted clubs. City, Chelsea, and us donā€™t need the money. We were more afraid of missing out to not join, and thatā€™s why we threw our name in the hat.
Now this is over, can we all go grab pint and chill out, there is already so much shit happening in the world already, and we donā€™t need to stress about this anymore.
Letā€™s go back talking football

Iā€™m not so sure - at least not actively. When fans have reacted before the owners have always stepped back and apologised. I think the same will happen now - the delay is probably down to having to sort out the details of the ESL having imploded with the other stakeholders before they can officially confirm its end.

The club will remain an important part of their business model. It may just be one that they will consider offers before where they wouldnā€™t previously.
