If it was just a joke like Francis Foster said then he wouldn’t be trying to turn it into a crusade.
Freedom of Speech is quite right but it does not include freedom from consequences and both parties have the right to make a decision the clubs have decided to cancel.
This is what the social media age rewards though. He’ll get a throng of sad incel cunts following after him decrying the fall of western society because we’re letting woke politics get in the way of freedom of speech.
Latest on Baby Dragged 15ft in His Buggy by Car During Liverpool Parade
The infant’s father, Daniel Eveson, said he “thought he had lost everything” when the Ford Galaxy ploughed into a crowd that included his family during the Reds’ chaotic title-winning parade on Monday. Teddy was thrown down the road after the collision, while Daniel’s partner was trapped under the wheels of the car. Maybe so, but a lot of defence laywers are fucking scum.
They have all the facts, plus undisclosed information the accused has no doubt shared with them.
They then fight tooth and nail to either get an often guilty person acquitted or sentenced under a lesser charge.
Fuck the people left hurting, he’s only doing his job
It’s also down to context. A joke told in a club will get instant feedback. If a comedian makes an off colour comment and gets groans, or worse silence, then they will move on. Comedians do have licence to have a joke fall flat.
But there is also the platform. If you pay to see a comedian, particularly one that tells poor taste jokes, then you expect it in that context. If it is in a public forum, then that goes out to everyone.
I think it was Jimmy Carr who said that there is a big difference between telling bad taste jokes in a club and shouting those same things out of context at someone’s breakfast table. It’s the likes of the Daily Mail that do the latter.
And there is also the audience, acts are supposed to tailor their material to - He’s mistaken if he thinks that people in Liverpool would go to his gig following those comments.
