The R.I.P. thread

I’m sure I’ve just read that Matt Beard has died…but confirmation is required.

Very sad to hear of the premature death of Matty Beard rest in peace Beardy and all our thoughts are for his family.

Another one gone.

Sad to hear this news. One of the figures of my youth, a bit eccentric, in the best British tradition, and utterly brilliant at what he did. He was the sort of character that in some strange way, even now, makes me long for home.

RIP Dickie.

Chris Dreya from the Yardbirds has died. He bowed out of the band as it morphed into Led Zeppelin, although he did the photography for their first album.

Very concurrent with

Patricia Routledge (Hyacinth Bucket in Keeping Up Appearance) has died aged 96.

She was originally from Birkenhead, so I expect there were a lot of observations of women on the other side of the Wirral that went into Mrs Bucket. A brilliant comic actress all round.

She went to Birkenhead High School for girls, which is where an old girlfriend of mine from many years ago also went. A couple of generations after Patricia Routledge, mind.

I was never a huge fan of Keeping Up Appearances, but she played the part to comedic perfection and in some ways I can see old relatives in her performance :joy:

RIP

She was made for that part (Mrs Bucket " Bouquet") and also the playing Kitty in Victoria Woods shows.:nerd_face:

RIP Jilly Cooper. A favourite of my (and many other mens) wives.

I always liked her, although I had forgotten about her Godfather role until we rewatched the fim a couple of months ago.

I probably know her best from her films with Woody Allen. Annie Hall was brilliant, although Sleeper is probably my favourite.

She was so comparatively young and different in it that it didn’t register for me it was her until years afterwards
