The R.I.P. thread

Horrible business. Such a terrible end to her life, poor thing. I disagreed with her politics, but this is just awful. RIP

:joy: well as the demographic for the area is 97% white, I think even the most delusional would be hard pressed to swing this one.

On a more serious note, this is an awful act and whether you agree or disagree with some of her views, she didn’t deserve this. RIP

Wasn’t just her politics.

She was a deeply unpleasant individual in life in general. However I am using the idiom that if you can’t say anything nice don’t say anything at all but some of the “heart felt tributes” spare me please.

Wise words, and well said. I know it is a harder thing to keep your counsel as a gay man given her views, so well done Matty. Rise above.

I saw the following from the Reverend Richard Coles presumably both in his role as a priest and public figure:

Prayers offered for the soul of Ann Widdecombe who I knew a bit, both as an adversary and as an inconveniently congenial acquaintance.

I have never felt quite so drawn to someone personally and repulsed politicially simultaneously. It happens not infrequently now but she was the first.

I would like to say this all works out in the end, and it does in eternity. In this life it is hard to see.

But the old order has passed away.

Heavenly Father
You have called your servant Ann
out of this world;
release her from the bonds of sin,
and welcome her into your presence,
so that she may enjoy eternal light and peace
and be raised up in glory
And dance with all your saints.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen.

Saw a comment online describe her as a modern day Suffragette. Well, I couldn’t let that go.

“And some good news for once. I hope it was an extremely painful death”

Goes by the name of Heather Herbert.
What a fucking sick individual.

Typical, ugly, intolerant lefty cunt. No surprise at all.

Another familiar face from our very own tapestry of life has gone far too early

RIP

Dermot Murnaghan 1957-2026 - former TV presenter and long-time Sky News anchor, has died.

In a statement, his family said he died at his north London home on Saturday morning following a period of illness with prostate cancer, adding: “He died peacefully with his family at his side”.

Murnaghan, 68, was a lead anchor for Sky News for 15 years until 2023. Before that, he presented the news for Channel 4, ITV and the BBC, and was also known and loved for hosting the popular quiz show Eggheads.

He was the best host of Eggheads I liked his manner much better than Populist Vine and his slimey nature.

And as sure as the sun rises in the east, the resident French prick shows up and thinks it’s all hilarious.

Yeah noticed that, wouldn’t waste my time though.

I’d heard a few weeks ago that his cancer was terminal. 68 is no age. RIP.

Ken Bates popped his cloggs

I think it was Ken Bates who offered a really funny line one time: “I haven’t laughed so hard since my mum got her tit caught in the mangle.” RIP.

Very sad to hear of his passing RIP and condoléances to his family, I hope I last a bit longer with the same cancer.

One I thought had passed away several years ago to be fair.
