I work in Higher Education and the amount of times I tear my hair out supporting students who have done something slightly dumb on social media.

I heard Ann Widdecombe questioned about her justification regarding her views on LGBT issues and they were based on her particular Christian interpretations of the bible. Would those seemingly celebrating her murder also celebrate if for instance Alisson was murdered. After all he belongs/supports a Christian church/sect (Hillsong) that has openly campaigned against LGBT and women’s rights…

Hillsong does not affirm a gay lifestyle and because of this we do not knowingly have actively gay people in positions of leadership, either paid or unpaid.
Alisson has also spoken out in support of the repulsive Bolsonaro who has always been very open that he sees LGBTQ+ rights as a threat to "traditional family values”.
I am going to take a wild guess here and suggest that Alisson’s Christian conservative views on LGBT issues such as same sex marriage and also abortion would pretty much align with AW’s.

Ann Widdecombe subscribed to what I would describe as brutal honestly. She stated her views publicly and those views were pretty ugly. Not snide or sophistic, just unpleasant and, oddly, rather at odds with the mainstream views of her alleged Catholic faith.
She, like anyone else, is entitled to her views and everyone else is entitled to their opinion of her, particularly if they have been of the receiving end of her opinions. To be honest, I prefer that brutal honestly to the drip feed of snide micro-aggressions that the likes of Farage engage in.
There is nothing wrong with being glad to see the back of her. At the same time there is also a sense of shock that an elderly woman living alone has been murdered in their own home. These two ideas are not incompatible.

Not really. If an individual has unpleasant ideas but has neither acted on them or promoted them in public, what have they done wrong? Thought crimes?

Alison hasn’t publically tried to force laws through based on those beliefs.
If he became a politician and then decided to use his beliefs to attack minorities then I would call him out.
His support for Bolosarno is something that I disagree with same as anyone who supports Trump or Farage but beyond that he hasn’t taken any actions to basically restrict my or other people’s rights.
But yeah public politician who victimised people and tried to use her power to discriminate based on beliefs she believes are from a deity that all science would suggest isn’t possible (unless you go down the simulation universe) is selective outrage. It was at the individual clearly outraged at the views and comments of Anne Widdicome, but not remotely outraged that a frail 78 year old woman was brutally murdered.
