My wife remembers Keegan from his time at Hamburg. She lived near LĆ¼beck at the time which is about an hours drive away. What actually originally got her attention was this appearance on the German music show Musikladen singing a song written by Smokie (one of her favourite bands at the time). She still has the single.
(Incidentally, the bio on the YouTube clip was presumably written by an intern that didnāt do their research.)

The family of Terry McDermott have released an emotional statement following the death of Kevin Keegan.
"We are heartbroken by the loss of our dear friend, Kevin Keegan.
"Kevin was so much more than a teammate. He was a lifelong friend whose warmth, loyalty, humour and passion for football touched so many lives. The memories they shared, both on and off the pitch, will be treasured forever.
"Although Terryās dementia means he is no longer able to express his feelings publicly, we know how much Kevin meant to him and how deeply this loss would have affected him.
"Our thoughts and prayers are with Jean, Laura, Sarah and all of Kevinās family at this incredibly sad time. We hope they find comfort in the love and respect being shown for Kevin by so many people.
"Kevin was one of footballās true greats, but to Terry he was, above all, a cherished friend.
āHe will be greatly missed and never forgotten.ā

Kevin was a Kop God, an Anfield great and a top bloke. His sad death and our cherished memories need a thread of their own in a more prominent position.

I can remember the Goodies as a kid also. They seemed to be a bit ahead of their time with a zany style humour, even though Monty Python was about at the same timeā¦
Yes he had his detractors through life, but he also had some followersā¦ I always sensed he could be serious when needed to be, but the ālittle boy giggleā inside was never far awayā¦
I remember on Nature Watch onceā¦ the team were discussing the activity of some small birdsā¦ When he blurted outā¦
ātits like coconutsā ā¦ obviously this caused a ripple of laughter throughout all those in attendance :0)

Of course, he was also quite an accomplished musician and composer of comedy songs. I once saw Bill Bailey (also a comedian, musician and amateur ornithologist) who said that he wanted to set up a double act with Bill called āThe Bearded Titsā.

I much preferred the Goodies to Monty Python.

The Goodies were always aimed more at a family audience, but looking back, much of it was better scripted and the use of video trickery was genuinely innovative compared to the Pythons.
I rewatched Python a couple of years ago. Some of it has aged badly, but much of it looks like it was written in a rush. The films still remain peerless, though.
