He was fantastic in The Wire. I canāt pretend to know much about him or his work beyond that role, but it seems like from the kind words Iāve been reading on Twitter that he was not only an exceptional actor but an exceptional person as well. RIP.

Ahhh man that one hurts.
Superb performance as one of the best characters in one of the best shows ever. It short changes his acting ability and that character but he had some of the best one liners that always hit the perfect message and tone.
A sad sad loss, especially under those circumstances.

Feel even more devastated than I did when he was killed in the show. What an actor, always fantastic.
The best character in the best show of all time. Quite an achievement and then he backed it up with numerous other brilliant performances.

Can only echo what others have said. Gutter. Omar was my favourite character in The Wire. Best TV show ever imo.

yeah i remember watching it and hoping i saw it wrongā¦hoping the was some saveā¦i read the fan fic conspiracies that he lived through itā¦i really wanted to see him get through itā¦at the time i was actually really cut upā¦
of course if any of the things i WANTED to happen, happened, it would have been shit, a massive writting flawā¦thats what made the wire the wireā¦
i wanted Avon to beat Marloā¦i wanted McNulty to get his shit togetherā¦so well written.
