Peter Bowles: To The Manor Born actor dies aged 85. RIP.
Canāt believe it Taylor Hawkins is dead.
Saw the Foo Fighters in the late 90s in small club in Birmingham (before they were massive).
Highlight was Taylor Hawkins and Dave Grohl trying to out do one another. Two drum kits and both were amazing. To this day one of the best concerts I have seen because of that moment.
Shocking news to wake up to. Heart goes out to Dave Grohl, to have lost two of his closest friends so young is unimaginable.
RIP Taylor.
This made me sad. Great rock drummer with a distinct style.
Even better though was the amazing connection he had with Dave Grohl. I rediscovered my love for music during the pandemic lockdown, listened to a lot of old favourites, and the Foo Fighters stuck with me in a way they havenāt done before.
RIP Taylor
What? How? Why? Wtf?
Iām in shock.
Oh jeez what awful news. Seemed like such a good bloke. 50 is no age.
Fuck, the one thing I hate about being in my mid 40s is that I feel great, but appreciate I am now at an age where people my age drop dead from natural causes.
Hug a loved one, peeps.
Quite gutted by this, probably the first artist and band from my youth who I was obsessed with for a period and who has passed on (I adored Amy Winehouse but sadly after she had gone).
Only ever saw them at Festivals but they are amongst my best gigs.
Gutted and social media doesnāt do itself favours on a days like these.
This still hasnāt sunk in for me.
They are a great band that IMO reignited good old fashioned guitar rock, a genre that was being swamped by the auto tuned, pop sausage machine. I love guitar but have always had a soft spot for drums and Taylor quite honestly nearly tempted me to buying a cheap drum kit and giving it a go. Thatās the greatest compliment I could give him.
I wish I could have seen them live, I hope I still can.
Early toxicology report stating he had 10 kind of drugs in his system.
donāt do drugs kidsā¦just donāt.
look at how many incredible talents have been lost to the exploration of drug culture in the arts. I feel like thereās a double-edge sword buried in there somewhere. I keep going back to Toolās āThird Eyeā and the snippet in the preface to the completely weird song:
See, I think drugs have done some good things for us, I really do
And if you donāt believe drugs have done good things for us
Do me a favor:
Go home tonight and take all your albums
All your tapes, and all your CDās and burn emā
āCause you know what? the musicians whoāve made
All that great music thatās enhanced your lives throughout the years
Were Real fuckinā high on drugs."
Today a young man on acid realized that all matter is merely energy condensed to aslow vibration
That we are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively
There is no such thing as death
Life is only a dream
And we are the imagination of ourselves
Hereās Tom with the weather."
