The R.I.P. thread

The trouble with my father in laws was that the tumour had attached itself to a main artery so it couldn’t be taken/cut out. They can do an op called a wimple where they take out the pancreas, but you have to be very lucky to be able to have that done.

RIP Gianluca. By all accounts a footballing life well lived. Souness played with him at Samp and I think puts it well:

**I can’t tell you how good a guy he was. Forget football, he was just a gorgeous soul. He was just a truly nice human being.

“He was just fabulous to be around. He was such a fun-loving guy, full of mischief, wonderful footballer and a warm human being. People will say things about his magnificent football ability, and correctly so, but above all that what a human being. My condolence go to his family – the kids were blessed to have a dad like that, his wife was blessed to be married to a man like that.”**

Notwithstanding the s*n article and the management failure, I can’t help but love Souness. I think he went through difficult personal stuff and recognises his personal failings and that he could do better as a man and I feel that has come across in his subsequent media. When he says Gianluca’s family were blessed to have him as a father and husband he really is paying him his ultimate complement.

For me the golden age of rugby union. I loved the 5 nations in those days. Just listening to Bill McLaren there gives me goose bumps.

Sadly, Jamin Pugh has passed away. Known to fans as Jay Briscoe, he was a star in ROH for over 20 years, from the first show until today. Jay and his brother Mark dominated ROH, reigning as champions to this day. We’ll do whatever we can to support his family. Rest In Peace Jamin

Damn. When I saw that @The-AllMightyReds was posting in this thread, I thought he was saying farewell to his ambitions to become a moderator.

Even so, it’d only be farewell for now. It’s bound to happen sooner or later…won’t stop until it happens.

Time to great TAN great again.

Teach your children about him……

I have had never explored his solo stuff. Listened to his latest album on my way to work the other day. Even at 80 he could really sing.

In tribute to Tom Verlaine here’s my favourite track from Marquee Moon. If there’s anybody out there who has never listened to Marquee Moon, you really should rectify that.

Used to love his eponymous men’s fragrance back in the day.

Rest in peace.

I used to buy my Dad the fragrances for birthdays etc. I used to like his Olympea parfum for women. Very sad loss in the fashion world.
RIP Paco Rabanne. A true visionary of fashion and ahead of his time.
