She was a fearless pioneer and suffered a lot of abuse at the beginning of her career. Ireland was a theocracy in those days run by reactionary and prudish bishops. Her openness about female sexuality was shocking and revolutionary at the time, but she, and others like her helped subsequent generations to live much freer and less oppressed lives.

I read a lot of anger about it yesterday, but assumed he was eventually fished out and the anger was just to the slow response. It is amazing how little that organization has professionalized itself despite all the money that has come in and with it the intense focus on its lack of professionalism.
