To be fair, a nursing home in his 90s was never on the cards

RIP DJ Mu! Seeing his band live was on my bucket list (have to travel to EU or NZ to see them). @NZred probably heard this already

Was hoping to do Belgium or Amsterdam for one of their summer tours…

Liverpool and Wrexham hero Joey Jones dies as iconic banner and salute remembered

Tributes have been paid to the Wales legend, who became synonymous with his iconic clenched fist salute and a famous banner showing how much he was adored by Liverpool supporters. Fellow Reds legend John Aldridge tweeted on X this morning: "More sad news folks Joey Jones passed away last night.

This has gone down in Liverpool folklore and is widely considered to be the greatest banner in the Reds’ history. The cult hero - serenaded by the Kop with the famous ‘oh Joey, Joey’ chant, made exactly 100 appearances for the Merseyside giants, during which time he also won the First Division and UEFA Cup.

RIP Joey Jones…

I was reading an article about our 1970s banners the other week and was thinking about Joey. 3 European trophies in consecutive seasons is quite an achievement.

Saw Joey score a belter against Leicester in '76, his celebration of it was fantastic - nobody could catch him for about 5 minutes!
Another of that 1st European Cup winning side gone…R.I.P Joey.

I don’t remember him playing for Chelsea. 78 appearances apparently .

According to Wiki he was a cult hero for their fans.

It was one of the first Panini stickers I ever got. Him and Jimmy Case were the two weird ones for me of coming to know them in their late post-liverpool career and only later realizing who they used to be.

It was like finding out the Wings version of McCartney from my childhood was a rock god.

He was a knob and not a pleasant man but the memories he created for my generation was off the chart.

Yep, the dictionary definition of a cunt but the wrestling industry would not be what it is today without his influence.
