I’d even consider going back there for it. problem lies in the time of year, same issue as qatar cannot have the tournament in traditional summer? or could they?

Why? Northern hemisphere summer is winter in Aus. Perfect football weather.

I suppose so, hey? I remember Melb being frigid in October in your springtime, but no idea what weather would be like in July.

I imagine the weather would be similar to what it was in South Africa 2010.

As you know, there’s big differences between the cities, and Melbourne winter is closer to English temperatures, but that’s the football season in the UK.
No chance of snow in Perth, Adelaide, Brisbane or Sydney

Looking forward to summer 2023. No international football if I’m not mistaken.

Next Africa Cup is in January 2024 in Ivory Coast.

Copa America in Ecuador and European Championship in Germany will both take place at the same time in summer 2024.

In the 1966 WC games, my dad and his mates went to Goodison to watch Pele… Remember him years later telling me about it… said Pele was kicked up in the air all game without any protection from the (English) referee.!
