they did. 2003 Rugby. it was amazing.
A proper football one would be brilliant
I’d even consider going back there for it. problem lies in the time of year, same issue as qatar cannot have the tournament in traditional summer? or could they?
Why? Northern hemisphere summer is winter in Aus. Perfect football weather.
I suppose so, hey? I remember Melb being frigid in October in your springtime, but no idea what weather would be like in July.
I imagine the weather would be similar to what it was in South Africa 2010.
As you know, there’s big differences between the cities, and Melbourne winter is closer to English temperatures, but that’s the football season in the UK.
No chance of snow in Perth, Adelaide, Brisbane or Sydney
yeah totally right. and as @ShadesOfRed pointed out…South Africa 2010…
Have it in Scotland,
its the only way we ever qualify…
Next World Cup he might be a first team starter at Anfield. Crazy to think.
Looking forward to summer 2023. No international football if I’m not mistaken.
Next Africa Cup is in January 2024 in Ivory Coast.
Copa America in Ecuador and European Championship in Germany will both take place at the same time in summer 2024.
Nations League perhaps…

Football legend Pele ‘is moved to end-of-life care’ in hospital, as doctors stop chemotherapy with his body not responding to it in fight against bowel cancer
- Reports from Brazil say Pele, 82, has been moved into a ‘palliative care’ ward at the Albert Einstein Hospital in Sao Paulo
- He is reportedly no longer responding to chemotherapy treatment in his fight against bowel cancer
- Three-time World Cup winner was admitted last Tuesday suffering from ‘general swelling’ and ‘heart failure’
- A further update on Thursday said he was in a ‘stable condition’ while his daughter Kely played down the severity of his condition
- But Folha de Sao Paulo reported on Saturday Pele is receiving ‘end-of-life care’
They will squeeze something in.
Be qualifiers anyhow in June.
In the 1966 WC games, my dad and his mates went to Goodison to watch Pele… Remember him years later telling me about it… said Pele was kicked up in the air all game without any protection from the (English) referee.!
They only do that when a player is too hot to handle
