The Referees or The Twelfth Man

Forget that.

How the fuck does he still have a reffing job?

Absolute clusterfuck. Omnishambles.

Yeah someone just made this point, the issue of incompetence not bias unless they are not telling us something.

And why isnā€™t Cook also getting that treatment and Hooper at this rate.

Only one I want near our games is that tech guy, he didnā€™t take 50 years to draw a simple line.

Has anyone seeen or heard from Tubby Grantā€¦has he apologisedā€¦

Its weird how most of the headlines state ā€œklopp demands spurs replayā€. Listening to the pre-match he never demands anything. He goes out of his way to state itā€™s just his opinion that this would be the fairest thing to do. Personally, after costing us 3 points iā€™d settle for the ref and VAR(AVAR too) heads on a plate. Not because of the mistake but for refusing to do the most obvious thing and stopping the game to allow it to be sorted there and then.

If we miss out on the league title or CL qualification by less than 3 points i hope we sue the hell out of them. Itā€™s bad enough weā€™ve missed out twice due to what looked like genuine mistakes but a third one, especially as obvious as this one would just be too much.

Just like Coote was after the VVD derby although that was never made official.

They wont mind though. The big hitters like Tierney, Kavanagh and Taylor are all still available with young pups like Brooks and Hooper coming through.

Just as a matter of interest Iā€™ve just researched Darren Englandā€™s record when heā€™s refereed Liverpool, Man City and man United.

Liverpool - 4 matches - 1 win, 2 draws, 1 defeat. 10 Liverpool players booked, 4 opposition players booked. 0 pens for LFC, 1 for the opposition.

Man City - 6 matches, 6 wins. 7 City players booked, 9 opposition. 5 pens for City, 1 for the opposition.

Man Utd - 3 matches, 3 wins. 3 Man U players booked, 5 opposition. 2 pens for Man U, 0 for the opposition.

Make of that what you will.

A replay isnā€™t absurd considering the magnitude of the stupidity from the VAR and AVAR. This wasnā€™t a simple good faith error or matter of interpretation. This was a goal being denied as a result of absolute lazy incompetence on behalf of the VAR team. This was a good goal being chalked off because of a fundamental miscommunication that was spotted a few seconds after play restarted, and that buffoon Darren England didnā€™t have the common sense to stop play and be like ā€œhey, sorry, we miscommunicated. That was a goal.ā€ England should be sacked, honestly.

But if theyā€™re not going to do a replay, the least they can do is call the game a draw and be done with it.

Well done boys, good process.

Disagree, still compromises sporting integrity. That allows them to say the only problem was the disallowed goal.

That was very much not the case.

Well given how three are doing nothing about the red cards, not a chance the game will be replayed.

Absolutely piss poor response from PGMOL. Iā€™m hope the club are equally unsatisfied

It doesnā€™t have to be a reply as such. Another solution would be to restart they game from the time Diaz goal went in with Liverpool still down to 10 men. This scenario plays out in Spain if games are abandoned they are restarted from the minute it stopped. As for giving a goal its even sillier than a replay.

I missed it earlier, but also goes against what JĆ¼rgen said in the press conference, that he didnā€™t want to see any particular official scapegoated.

Not even a few seconds. It was noticed immeadiately upon the restart.By 1 second after the restart the fuck up was being pointed out.

Just read thisā€¦

England will not be losing his job due to the incident that took place at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday, which came days after he officiated in the UAE, a process which is now under review.

The Telegraph have now reported that England will not be involved in any further Liverpool games this season.

The update comes after both England and Cook were removed from selection from this weekendā€™s fixtures after the monumental blunder.

The 37-year-old was added to the 2022 FIFA List of International Match Officials in 2021, having previously spent time in the Football League.

The report adds that England has lost match fees in the region of Ā£1,200 following the incident - on top of a FIFA basic salary of around Ā£150,000-per-year.

Are you happy with this?

Removing one person is meaningless when the entire football establishment in the country has an agenda against us.

Probably has a flight booked to the UAE for today. Heā€™ll more than recoup his Ā£1200 over there.

The thing we need to now work out is did Darren England fail to intervene to award the goal because of incompetence, or did the protocols in place prevent him doing so. Thatā€™s the bit thatā€™s unclear.

The way he hides behind the protocol (I canā€™t do anything) feels quite murky, when weā€™ve seen play pulled back after two or three minutes to award a penalty, and on one occasion after the whistle had blown for full time.

Iā€™ll say it again. What was the conversation afterwards, particularly with Hooper and how that conversation influenced their actions from that point.

Hooper was out for blood after half time in particular.
